Our next 2 games are going to be tough. I would be happy with a split. I think the cuse game being at home is very winnable, lets face it were due for a well rounded win. Id say at Duke is going to be tough, winnable but tough.

I am hoping for a split at this point. Lets face it, right now we just aren't playing our best basketball. Our shooting has been off, our defense has been struggling, until the second half Saturday our cuts haven't been hard, and you never know how we are going to rebound. Personally I think we are going to get better and really put it all together by the end of the season, but I am not sure we are going to come out a much improved team by Wednsday or Saturday. We definitly CAN win both games, and I can see the improvement in the team as each game progresses, but I am not sure we are good enough yet to expect anything more than a split at this point, or be TOO disappointed if they don't win either game.

As for the slump, there's no better way to get out of it than against Syracuse and then Duke, although I want Wright and Freeman to penetrate as much as the Michigan guards did against Duke.

Realistically though, beat 'Cuse and the pressure is off. I hate losing to Duke as much as the next guy but we don't need that win. The Hoyas have checked the signature on the road, and quality OOC win boxes.
It's Cameron. Jon Scheyer is already warming up by shooting FTs three at a time. I'm hopeful for Duke but 'Cuse is the one we need.

But let's continue to focus on what's important: BE wins and getting that top 4 seed for the BET.

The Cuse game is sooooooooooooooo much more important than the Duke game. Even if we lose to Cuse the Duke game isn't a huge deal. Big East standings trump all

Yeah. Would take a W and L over an L and W this week in a heartbeat.

Split what? Our next game is against Syracuse. That's all that matters.

Amen royski - one at a time. Plus, I would rather lose my GU degree than lose to 'cuse.

Yeah. Would take a W and L over an L and W this week in a heartbeat. Agreed. I hate both teams. But an in-conference win over a rival + a loss to the #2 team in their (very tough) building is OK, a loss at home to Cuse and a good non-conference win isn't as good. It'd be great to Duke, would love to show them up, but I still haven't given up on winning the Big East and Cuse at home is a game we'd need for that.

You don't need to be a math major (and God knows, I wasn't) to conclude that the 'Cuse game is much more important. Just take a look at what happens with the BET pairings: under the new system, the top four teams have a tremendous advantage, which is key even into the Big Dance, so every conference win is gold. And, while I agree any Duke discussion is premature as yet, at least with the Orange at the Phone Booth, we shouldn't be screwed, as I predict we will be at Cameron Indoor, by the notorious "du(k)ious" officiating.

I'll take the opposite view and say beating Duke would do more for us in the long run with seeding. Think about it for a second - wins at Uconn and at Duke?!?!?!?! No other team in the nation will be able to say that at year's end. Lots of people will be able to say they beat Syracuse at home by the time the schedule plays out.

Taking a split is no fun. I won't be unhappy with 1-1, but I'd never give up a shot at 2-0.
Besides, I really don't want to give a loss to either team, especially Syracuse.

Just win'em both. But yes i'd rather win syracuse. But it doesn't matter because we're winning both.

the nice thing (or bad thing) about having a perenially good team now is that I am disappointed whenever we lose....even if the odds are stacked against us. So let's go 2-0!!

i wont be happy with a split because i could never be happy losing to either team in any situation. i would take winning the next and then losing to WVU over a split any day I would rather be hit with a large, blunt object very hard than to lose to either Syracuse or Dook. So no, I would not be happy with a split.

Good grief.
If you're happy with anything less than two wins, stop calling yourself a hoya fan.
It's one thing to not be completely distraught by a loss to either teams given the situation, but how can you say you'd be happy with a split to these two of all teams?
Frightening.

I'm with Jimmy Hoya and a few others. We need to win the first game vs. Cuse. After that, we need to focus on and win the Sat. game vs. the Dukies.
We are Georgetown! We don't settle for 1 out of 2.
GO HOYAS!!!!!
