We can't continue to struggle playing at home in conference play. Fortunately we atoned for the Pitt loss ahead of time with the win at UConn, but we don't have any more home games to burn. Personally I think anything less than running the table at Verizon is a disappointment.

No it won't jgalt, he said hit HARD... I would rather be hit with a large, blunt object very hard than to lose to either Syracuse or Dook. So no, I would not be happy with a split. This might just happen at the cuse game, you know, with devo around (sorry mods, but i had too)

Not happy with a split OR with losing to WVU at home (for pete's sake are you nuts?!?!? have you never had to deal with a bunch of WVU fans after a victory in DC?!?!? it's purely awful).
If we're looking that far fwd (to the Eers game), my preferences, in order are: W-W-W W-L-W
nothing else is acceptable. I cannot--CANNOT--stomach a loss to either Cuse or WVU at home. Losing to Dook is always sucky, but a loss to Duke at Cameron isn't so bad, and it doesn't affect the Big East standings.

We've played three. until further notice, i'm unimpressed. duke hasn't played a team that can match their quickness or a big man the caliber of young monroe. let's end duke's home non-conference winning streak. the thought of losing to syracuse makes me want to vomit. but we do play them twice. so i pose this question: assuming we had to lose one of the three games, would you rather sweep the cuse and lose to duke or split with the cuse and beat duke?

Personally i want to go 30 -0 and be as good as the 1990 vegas team but thats just not going to happen any year in the big east. I say we win the cuse game and duke is house money. If we lose teh duke game but play our asses off then i wont be devestated, Especially the way weve been playing. Were due for a complete game, we need to get our defensive tenacity back and start hitting some open 3's in theflow of the offensive. Oh and someone tell sapp to actually make an entry pass tomonroe every once in a while!

To ask the question that way is to ask, as a basketball fan, which appendage I would miss the least; to take a loss in any of these three is to take a more heart-gutting loss than to, say, Marquette at Marquette. So, you can have my left hand. I'd rather lose at Dook than lose to Cuse but only if I had to make the choice. In C2CH fantasy land, we go 3-0 in those games. Now, if we want to talk about what we'd give up (I.e., which games with which we'd have to make a stright-up trade) to win those three: @ USF, @ Cinci, and @ SHU.

Hey, we aren't making any "Trades" of games. The Hoyas come out to win each and every one! And so should the fans!

And so should the fans! no arguments from me with you or with hoyatmf! one of my favorite aspects of III and his teams is their one-game-at-a-time mentality. this thread is all just for sake of argument and speculation. i also agree with big dog: anything less than running the table at the Booth will be a let down.

No victory over Duke will ever feel as good as last night.
Okay, maybe 3 years ago - but that was a whole 'nother era.

If I were told that we were going to go 2-1 in our three games against Syracuse and Duke, I would take two Syracuse wins, only because it's Syracuse. A win at Duke on top of the UConn win would be a phenomenal combination, but I would just rather beat Syracuse than Duke, whatever the consequences.

I still take the split. I can't even say I'm all that disappointed. It would have been great to break the streak of OOC wins but we all know you have to play absolutely perfectly at Cameron. The Hoyas didn't do that.
