Is it just me, or are the timeout promotions producers mailing it in recently? Especially in the Shake Cam and the FOTG promotions, they just don't seem to care. The Shake Cam on Saturday went to some chick who was SITTING IN HER SEAT!!! The FOTG was similarly (although not as egregiously) uninspired, giving the stadium little to cheer for in what is normally a fan-judged competition. Of course, this comes after last week's game, when the FOTG title went to a fan who clearly did not garner the most support from the rest of the crowd.
Also, do I need to mention the sad-sack layup, free throw, 3-pointer guy at the Provi game? WOW!
Hoyas promotions people: shape up!

Whatever. 118 always gets overlooked because we're next to the student section. We don't get our shirts for free people!

Season ticket holders in 102 get skipped all the time as well. Upper and lower.

Haha, yeah, 118 can be a bit of a black hole for the cannon.
Was anyone else terrified / rolling in their seats laughing when they first unveiled that thing?

It's gonna break, backfire, and/or explode before the end of the season. I'll be happy 118 is a black hole when it's the CO2 tank shooting into the 100 level.

Do they intentionally pick people who have never played basketball/have muscular diseases for the shooting contest? I'm embarrassed to be an alum every time one of those spazmatic ninnies bricks the layup, airballs the FT, and is 10 feet short on the three.

I didn't realize that Section 121 was blessed with the Greatest Hoytalk Poster of All Time (GHPAT) -- further cements us as the best section in Verizon!

C'mon Lic, finally got a shirt up in 200, love the cannon - best cheerleader couldn't get it past row B - my son put the shirt on and we turned the corner against Providence. The stuff superstition is born of. Share the wealth, new administration coming, distribute the love. Obama better pick GU against UMD though.

you know what else is mailing it in? our cheers? i was at the kansas msu game on sat and their student section knows how to rev up the crowd. but unfortunately a lot of it has to do with the athletic department and hoops club. they probably have more funds than us and can provide cool items like newspaper (to read when kansas is introduced) and paper bags (to pop when msu scores their first FG). they have a real home court advantage.

While we're on the subject of timeout promotions:
Can I borrow someone's kid (preferably an infant or baby) for use during the Check Card Challenge? This is its last season and I want to win, and apparently you can only do that with an individual that is too young to form a contract. I'm willing to rent said child and will pay a portion of the winnings to the child's parents (or buy them beers, whichever they prefer).
