That feed was cutting in and out on my computer pretty annoying but at least i got to watch some of the game. Hey i guess any win in the big east is a good wiin so congrats hoyas. Seems that monroe was dominant in the second half even with summers in foul trouble so i guess all in all well take the W right?

We outrebounded PC by 8 (according to ESPN stats), although they got more ORs than us.

Needed that win. A lot of good and a lot of bad, but a win is a win.

Last 7 minutes or so were very sloppy by the Hoyas, however the overall effort in the second half was excellent. Good minutes from a LOT of guys (Simms, Clark especially). Looks like that bench which the announcers like to talk about is coming around.

Held it together pretty well w/o Summers for a good chunk of the 2d half, which is encouraging.

Clark got 10 pts. I think it was his biggest effort.

Very solid BE win. Team picked up intensity at end of first half and into second. Henry Sims and Jason Clark look like they can help a lot as the season unfolds.
Jessie Sapp gives us a lot more than points. Only shot 1-6 today, but had 8 points, 5 boards and 3 assists.
Team faced a tough situation and rose to the occasion.

In my humble opinion, our problem is our inability to hit 3 point shots. It killed us against Notre Dame and almost did us in today. 30.8% is just not going to do it in big games.

Just found the game on homertv.net for anyone who is abroad or whatever Thanks so much. Got to see the last 10 minutes because of you. Made my day to see us win. Way too close at the end considering how much we were up, but I like that we were able to really turn it around in the 2nd half, especially without DaJuan in there. Quite a stat line at the end for Monroe: 13 points, 10 boards, 6 assists. We actually outrebounded them by 8 and we shot over 50% again -- back to our normal shooting, just need 3 point shooting to come around. Really happy with the play of Sims and Clark in this game. Sims looks like he's really starting to get it the last 2 games. He's gonna give us great minutes come tourney time! Not pretty, but a much needed win. Let's gain momentum with W. Virginia and then go in and shut up those Dukies in their house next Saturday! Hoya Saxa!

I caught the last 14 or so minutes, right as we were taking the lead, so I didn't see how we came back from behind. Playing from behind was a concern of mine in the last 2 games. I know III teams peak late in the season and Providence isn't the caliber of team that Pitt and ND are (they're not going to play us as well on defense or have that killer instinct that top teams have), but I'm assuming this is a deficiency that we're learning to deal with.

Tale of two halves. Leaps and bounds better in the second.

I didn't get to see or listen to any of the game, so any info would be greatly appreciated. Inspite of that fact, it sounds like we might have started to turn a corner this game, despite our poor three poin shooting. I think one of our main problems in the Pitt and Notre Dame game was mental. Once we got down my 8 or more, it seemed like we could never regain a lead, and that was mostly all mental mistakes. This is the first game we have come back to win a game after being down by double digits, and it will help us mentally later in the season. Also the bench contributions, even though I don't know how they did/looked, sounded like a nice improvement.
Also something that has concerned me since the Memphis game is Jesse's and Austin's three point shooting. If either one of those two can remember how to shoot from the outside, we will hopefully be fine. But if they keep going 0-3 and 1-4 or another percentage like that, we will be in trouble.

sleepy....i disagree.....we should have hammered PC, they played a very passive match-up zone, and allows Greg to do what he wanted in there passing wise when they came to double....I like that we overcame their hot start and won but we should be 15 pts better than this team....I agree with what someone said earlier. For a bunch of guys who are reasonably good shooter, they have got to pick up the 3pt shooting, cause teams are going to keep packing it in with more size than what PC has. Austin has got to get it going from the outside, Jessie too.
The positive was probably that they took the lead and expanded it with out DaJuan. Herny and Monroe look like the enjoy playing with one and another. IT will be interesting to see against THAT team next game how we match-up with their bigs of Onauku and Jackson. Cause jackson is one of those lunch-pail get after guys like Blair is, and will push and force himself into the play to get a board and wont"stay" boxed out.
