clearly, he has some growing up to do and there are some issues he has to overcome. how bad it got? idk, only the Memphis program does...I'm sure III would do his homework before recruiting him again.
I'd be surprised if he didn't go back home to UGA or Tech. Going further from home to a program he's not likely to start on next year doesn't seem like the best medicine for him right now.

The roster's outlook has changed dramatically since his recruitment. Still, the kid is very talented and could make an immediate impact. Does he want immediate starter PT or is he willing to compete for it? Any potential team chemistry issues or can his relationship with Markel keep him in check? This is one best left to JT3 and staff. Using RDF's favorite acronym, TTS.

Is he required to sit out when he transfers? If so, when is he eligible?

The other thing is if he transferred now he'd have pretty much a full season of practice, which would be huge for his ability to have an immediate impact in JTIII's "system".
I'd be surprised if they went for it, to me it's a red flag if Josh Pastner (a guy who likes talent more than most people) is willing to give up on him. My guess is there's a 5% chance the staff even makes a phone call, but stranger things have happened. The kid's certainly a talent and I'd project him as a potential starter right away if he came to GU. I know people will say "what about Hollis" but I think Hollis has a lot of proving to do before we can say he's locked up a starting position for his last two years.

Yeah, all his teammates hated him within a month and Memphis kicked him out before he played a game. What could possibly go wrong?
Although I'm sure we're calling him. Hell, if we called Tony Woods... Now that's a guy I would have stopped rooting for the Hoyas had he become one.

Yeah, we'll see how the actual GU coaching staff feels about it if they stay in contact. We've gotten reports of what a good person the kid is from people who have actually met him vs. the Memphis fiasco. Again, trust the staff.

My guess is The staff looks into the situation but ultimately decides that GU is geared toward TEAM play and good kids more than most. I don't think he ends up on the hilltop, assuming he'd even want to be here.

blurbs from Rivals article with his AAU coach..
"It's mostly a lot of schools that recruited him before he committed (to Memphis). Of course you've got Georgia, Georgia Tech, Georgetown, West Virginia, Marquette, Baylor," Darby said. "Pretty much I've gotten a lot of calls from people with interest in wanting to know what happened (at Memphis), people, I guess, wanting to do their homework. So there are a lot of guys I've been wanting to keep in contact with. South Florida has shown some interest. Right now everybody is in the questioning stage."
Darby said before Kendrick chose Memphis that Georgetown, Oregon and Georgia Tech were "the people who had the best rapport with Jelan" in high school.

If he wants to come you take him. You deal with his issues when he gets here. This would probably be his last chance so he might be on his best behavior. We need talent.
