Should I mention that Roy averaged fewer fouls per game (2.7 v. 2.8) his senior year than in his junior year?
Nah.....
(Roy was more important to the team his senior year, therefore we all remember him getting in foul trouble because it was a lot more stressful than when Jeff was there his junior year)

The questions should be whether he would have developed more by playing very limited NBA minutes, but practicing against NBA players for a year, or if he developed more by playing in college his senior year.
To me it is hard to say. Playing and practicing against more guys his says and skill level may have helped more, but limited playing minutes may have been detrimental

Roy very clearly has said every time he was asked whether after his Junior year, after his Senior year, or during this NBA season, that he was not mentally prepared to enter the NBA after his Junior year and was far more ready for the rigors of the NBA after having graduated.
During pre-draft workouts last year, coaches and GMs (including very knowledgeable guys like Larry Bird and Larry Brown) said that Roy's overall skills base was much higher than most of the big men coming out and Roy was very good in those workouts.
Let's also remember that Roy is a very young graduate turned rookie. Many of the guys who were one-and-dones or two-and-dones are almost Roy's age. He still has plenty in front of him and coaches are looking at his real age (22), not relative age (Rookie, soon to be 2nd year). A 7'2" 280 lb. 22 year old center still will develop plenty going forward and the NBA folks know it.
I'm willing to trust Roy's comments and Bird/O'Brien's comments at this point.

Roy was 8 of 9 from the foul line last night and 20 of 26 in his last three games, so he is figuring out the fouls on both ends.

Wouldn't you like to hear some of the locker room trash talking recounting the GU comeback win over UNC to reach the elite eight? I am sure Roy never lets him forget it!

More allocades for Roy in Summer League as he was named to the first team all-summer league, and was praised by Pacers coach Jim O'Brien: Roy Hibbert
20.2 ppg, 9.0 rpg, 1.8 bpg
Hibbert was patient on the offensive end. He played within the offense by letting the cutters go through the lane before making his move to the basket. He knocked down the midrange jump shot and scored with both hands in the post. Hibbert, who was constantly in foul trouble his rookie season, had more than three fouls in a game just once.
O'Brien's take: "I can't tell you how many people came up to me from the NBA and said they have seen a remarkable improvement in his movement, his ability to stay down and stay out of foul trouble. He's not playing against regular NBA players, but we saw growth for Roy. He scored how you thought a starting center would score in the summer league."www.indystar.com/article/20090712/SPORTS04/907120368/1088/SPORTS04
