If the guy who yelled "Terrorist" baptizes Trig Palin, or if the one who yelled "Kill Him!" (allegedly I might add - despite your multiple links, this is all still coming mostly fro one source, except the first one) marries Bristol Palin and her boyfriend, I will refuse to vote for McCain. How about that?
You're right. Logic is fun.

P.S. This Jeremiah Wright logic is fun. Yeah, 'cause Sarah Palin and John McCain worshiped at church for 20+ years where each of these people gave sermons. It's exactly the same.

Am I the only one that thinks, based on the milbank account, the "kill him" was directed at Bill Ayers? I don't condone wanting to kill Bill Ayers, but I am not going to lose any sleep at night if some people think bad thoughts about an unrepentant domestic terrorist.

Speaking of Abraham Lincoln...... "I know that the Lord is always on the side of the right. But it is my constant anxiety and prayer that I and this nation should be on the Lord's side." And Sarah Palin in her church: "That's what we have to make sure that we're praying for, that there is a plan and that that plan is God's plan." Scandalous! ;D

Scandalous! ;D I personally think you have to give Lincoln a pass on the religious stuff. Origin of Species and all that were just coming out when he took office. "God is Dead" hadn't sunk in yet among the intellectual community, the phrase itself would not be written for a few decades, and intelligent people were still playing the God card in the 1860's. I know those who still believe in the God of the Bible today will think that's a wack thing to say, but personally I think stuff like what Palin said and some of the stuff that GWB says about "God" are just silly and totally out of place in the 21st century. They do it because they're trying to appeal to a whole segment of people who are clutching still to "the good book", but it still seems really out of place to me, or out of time more accurately. I'm sure a lot of great leaders through time have said some real nice things about God, but that doesn't mean they fit in 21st century discussion. Just my 2 cents.

I'm not anti-religious at all (at least when we're not equating Religion = Creationism, which seems pretty limited to me), but there's a lot fo evidence out there that Lincoln's religion was more political expediency.
But that's neither here nor there. It's great for whatever reason if our leaders want an ethical plan. Religious people don't have a stranglehold on that and certainly not biblical literalists.
I've never had a problem with the Beacon on a Hill idea -- although it should be done in humility as a goal, not arrogance as stated fact that it seems to be today -- but I do have a problem with that Beacon on a Hill when Being "Moral" means telling people who they can sleep with or read but not caring for the sick, the poor, the mentally ill, our children, etc.

Did McCain and Palin endorse books written by those people in the crowd, or help them disburse $50 million in grant money to left-wing "education" groups? We can go at this some more if you want, but I don't think it's going to get us anywhere.

'I hope these protesters have the courage and honor to give veterans thanks for their right to protest,' she said. Some in the crowd tried to shout toward her what was really being said, but she couldn't hear them."

Say it isn't so! I can't imagine the media slanting any news about this election.
