As a Hoya and a lifelong Knicks fan, nothing would be better than another Ewing on the Knicks, but in all fairness to Jr. he would benefit far more from playing every minute in the NBADL or Europe than sitting on the end of the Knicks bench waiting for garbage time. His shot is still much too inconsistent for NBA play, but his energy, defense and quickness may be enough to get him that 15th spot on the team. Last night's two dunks add to his growing mystique. If he gets the 15th spot on the team, the Knicks will probably farm him out to their NBDL team in Reno. He'll still have a roster spot with the Knicks, and he'll still be under contract to them, but he'll be able to get playing time and develop down in the NBDL. When Isiah was in charge, he liked to keep all 15 guys on the roster in New York and never used the NBDL. D'Antoni has said that he will change that, and Ewing is probably the most likely guy to benefit from that. From the article I posted on the last page: "If Ewing Jr. goes to Reno, of course it means he made the team. D'Antoni even hinted that lottery pick Danilo Gallinari could wind up there for a short stint to get himself in game shape and play tons of minutes. Unlike Isiah Thomas, D'Antoni won't hesitate to use the D-League, especially with Jay Humphries coaching the team. Humphries was on D'Antoni's coaching staff in Phoenix last season and will be running D'Antoni's system."

Great clip! And I was delighted to hear Clyde making the call: The "Master Blaster" by Ewing! So nice you see it twice!

It seems to be a tough decision for the knicks: keep a guy who you know what your getting and who has played in the league, or keep an unproven rookie who may never pan out but is a crowd and PR favorite and could be a solid contributor of 10 more years. Pat is definately making it hard for them.
