Yeah whatever. Tell that to Chris' excellent family and support group.

That's good to hear. I hope they help him make the right decisions.

I think we need another guard this year. If either Chris or Jason gets injured, we will never be able to break a good press. If we don’t get one this year, then we definitely need one next year. It takes a full season for a guard to learn the system and perfect their passes in our offense. Austin is really a 3 and if we let him play it, he could be magnificent at that position. After watching Julian this summer, he will be a beast at the 4 or 5. He should get more than 20 minutes a game.
We lost two sophomores this off season who were the number 7th and 8th players on the team. What do we think the odds of keeping the 9th and 10th players this year after their second season? We will have plenty of scholies available, just like now.

kelly, the situation is a little different. We lost 2 to transfer but also 4 to graduation (that means 6 guys left from an 11 man schollie team).
if both 9th and 10th (O and Kita) transfer, AND Dajuan leaves early (that would mean 4 departed from a 10 schollie team) leaving 6 from a 10 man team, with 2 commits brings us up to 8. BUT that means BOTH the 9th and 10th would have to transfer AND Dajuan leave early... i anticipate 3 guys leaving this year (Sapp, DaJuan and either one or the other from OW and NM) if that is the case maybe 1 more 09 player but by no means do I think we should go after 2 guys in 09, because there are NO GUYS (other than DaJuan) set to leave at the end of NEXT season, so the 10 year would be tight to say the least
(Yes you CAN have 13 scholarships, but realistically you don't want more than 10-11 guys on schollie so you can hedge an extra one or two in case of early entry/ transfer, so you can pick one up in a crunch. If all 13 are used up and nobody is set to graduate, recruits will be hesitant because they're scholarship spot is contingent upon tranfser/early entry adn they might not want to commit).

kelly, other than being listed in the starting line up as the SF, what has AF done to warrant him being "really a 3"? He's a 2-guard playin' the 3.

He's definitely a two guard and nothing more til he proves otherwise. It's safer to say we ran a three guard offense rather than calling Austin a 3.

In agreement as well. He's a 2 guard with a 2 guard mentality. The Wallace, Sapp, Freeman, Summers, Roy set from last season was definitely a 3 guard offense.

I agree with AF as a 2, but able to play a great 3 if needed.
