Jon keeps surprising people. He's been doing it for at least four years.

Good for Jon to make a summer league roster, but I hope he doesn't see it as anything other than an audition for European teams. I never thought he had much of a chance with any team in the League, but the Wizards offer him no shot whatsoever. The Wiz have no more than one roster spot available. They will likely fill that spot with a small forward to serve as a backup to Caron Butler, likely (hopefully) a defensive specialist. Besides, with the way Arenas just worked out his extension (taking less than the max contract that was offered to him), I think there will be pressure to fill that spot with a free agent, not an undrafted rookie.
Best of luck to Jon.

Jon is not yet on the team. He could be cut before they go to Vegas.

I wouldn't get your hopes up on Jon making the NBA either - but you never know. The information above about the Wiz roster status is incorrect. Currently they have 13 players under contract. They have about 5m in cap room remaining and they have 1 FA on the team. Roger Mason (UVA) may resign with the wiz in which case John has no shot (because Roger is a bigger version of Jon) but reports say that Roger will get a larger offer from other teams (like a San Antonio). If that is the case the wiz hopefully will go after a legit SF to spell Caron Butler. Then they would have very little money left to sign a 15th player. Now - call me crazy but they could sign Jon to that 15th spot at the league minimum to basically be a practice player and an insurance policy if Arenas went down again and they needed a backup point gaurd. The fact that Jon has run the princeton offence for 4 years would certainly help get him aclumated to the wiz. And he would be cheap which is all the wiz could afford. Now the other side of this is they could also do this with Will Thomas the guy from Mason who would be as cheap as wallace. It will be interesting.

What is Bobo's one year of NBA experience as noted on the roster? Maybe his 1 year with the Bakersfield Jam of the NBDL counts, probably not, but the league is officially affiliated with the NBA now.

From Wiz camp: Wallace is hitting J's today with regularity.

Best of luck to Jon! How awesome would it be for him to play his way in and prove the doubters wrong?
