I think the team plays with spirit and determination and puts the hammer down to complete an undefeated season at Verizon.

The Hoyas must play their best game of the season to win. I do like the fact that Verizon has become a true homecourt advantage. Go team.

that win at mu restored my faith that this team can go deep in the tourney. i cannot wait until saturday for this game. as a hoya fan, you can't ask for anything more than to be in the position to see these boys win the be regular season on senior day at the verizon center. wish i was going to be there.
cut down on the turnovers and this team is lethal.

Quite simply, this is one of the biggest regular season Hoya games, if not THE biggest regular season Hoya game of all time.
At stake is an outright Big East regular season title. We are playing a team that destroyed us on their court just a short while ago, revenge is quite a large factor. To top it all off, it is senior day, with one of the greatest sets of graduating seniors in history.
Lets get it done.

Id, he did say "Regular season" I guess if you say it is to win consecutive BE Conf. titles for the first time ever, that would support his argument. But there have been some pretty big #1 v #2 regular season games and many others. So it might have been a bit more prudent, but less exciting, to leave that phrase out.

Far less exciting. And given what's at stake, and the stage it is on, and the addition of the incredible intangible of senior day, I don't think that it is clearly inaccurate.

I'm excited and I find it hard to believe that our boys would have a let down on such a huge game ... I think JTIII and staff will have ample time to prepare our boys for a complete battle. Roy will be a factor as will JW and Ewing .. this is our time of the year and even though people have doubted the Hoyas (with good reason imo) I think we will shine March 8th and I have much faith in our squad ... I mean , how many other teams in the nation would love to be in our shoes this time of the yr (especially in the league we play in - BIG EAST that is) ... yes .. we may have had some questionable wins - and we may not have been as impressive as people expect us to be - BUT WHO cares ... all that matters is that we have a chance to finish the season with a BANG and go into post season with huge momentum .. LETS TAKE CARE OF BIZNESS on the 8th and the rest is history .....CAFE 31 - HERE I COME .... LETS GO HOYAS SHOW EM WHAT WE'RE MADE OF !! We came this far ..

Some "analysts" believe that its better to lose a late game than enter the postseason on a long win streak.
Given that Louisville hasn't lost since January, I'd be happy to help them out in that respect.

This is last game our seniors will ever play at the Booth in a Hoyas uniform, it's Senior Day, and it's for the BigE regular season title, #1 BET seed, and what would be our first back-to-back reg season title ever. No question about it: it's money time.

If anyone is around, JTIII on his daddy's radio show locally on 980. Discussing the Marquette game.
Dad asks "how do you cut down on the turnovers?"
JTIII responds: "we need more possesions. Must stop turning the ball over. If we improve slightly in that area we will be significantly better"
Dad asks "how do you get Roy involved more, more touches?"
JTIII responds: "Everyone asks me about the amount of shots he takes or doesn't take. But he is the focal point of other teams scouting report and he is helping us get to the point where we are."
Dad finishes saying everyone always asked me after every game about getting Patrick, Alonzo, and Dikembe more touches. Can't win.
I paraphrashed all of this. Dad asked the questions we want to ask.

It would be cool to see someone at the game dressed as Two-Face (Batman villain), with a suit half-white and half-black, a tie half-white and half-red, one white shoe and one black shoe and a Pitino mask half-sneering and half-crying (also, would need some kind of over-sized coin to flip). Well, maybe not -- that might interfere with the blue & gray in the MCI Center; then again, Batman wears blue & gray (or used to wear, during the long intermediate period between the original black & gray and the nearly all-black often used today) -- there could be another guy dressed as Batman (with a block "G" on his chest instead of a bat) taking it to the Two-Face character all game long.
If only I were in DC this week with A LOT of time to kill...

Kinda bad pun of the week:
Given how much III references The Gambler, I find it deliciously ironic that our last game for all the Big East regular season marbles is against a team that goes by the name "Cards".

Didn't we lead half this game and both teams had momentary 10-point leads with the game in single digits the entire time? I expect the same this time. Hopefully we CRUSH them by 3-5 points.

Lville travels well. I hope everyone comes out and locks up as many tickets as possible because a lot of available tickets will go to the red.
