After watching Duke play against Maryland last night, I can't see them ranked in the top 5. Does playing in the ACC mean that you have to rush through possessions and fire up an ill-advised shot with 25 seconds left on the shot clock? And who is their Center now? Singler? With him in at the 5 they play zero interior D.

Hope our players don't believe that ranking - we have a ways to go before we're really the 6th best team in the country.

Guru who'd you put ahead of us? Really surprised about Florida and Mississippi st. being ranked I'd put Uconn in ahead of both of them. Probably ND too.

Michigan State and Tennessee, while deserving of their spots in the rankings, are better teams than we are.

Michigan st?! the same michigan st that only put up 36pts in a loss to IOWA?! that mich st? and the tennessee team with no inside presence that just loss to Kentucky? If you say so, I mean everyone's entitled to the opinion.

Guru who'd you put ahead of us? Agreed. Guru, you can't just say something like that without any specifics. Maybe this team is flawed and inconsistent, but every team is. We are very talented and incredibly tough. We certainly can compete with the top 5 teams ahead of us in this week's poll. And I don't think there's any team below us that would beat us in a 3 game set on a neutral site.

With Clemson dropping out, only 2 ACC teams are left. I love it.

I think if you actually checked teams records and how they've played this year you have to rank Florida ahead of Uconn. They are like 17-3 and 5-1 in the SEC. I don't care how how down the SEC is or that Uconn just beat Indiana, as much as I hate to say it, Florida deserves to be ranked at this point.

I was thinking of the Michigan State that only lost to UCLA by 5, beat BYU and Texas, and the Tenn. team that beat Xavier, Gonzaga, Ole Miss, and Vandy (by 20). I could also make an argument that Texas is better than us, but I figured that'd be pushing it. Our game with Memphis only convinces me that we can compete with a top 5 team for exactly 1 half of basketball and the loss to Pitt doesn't convince me that we can defeat any ranked teams.

Florida has to be ranked by now. They schooled Vandy yesterday.
I hope, for the Big East's sake, UConn cracks next week. They are playing great ball right now and their only "bad" loss was to Providence.
It's also interesting to look at all of the big east teams receiving votes. We have:
#27 UConn #28 ND #32 Nova #33 WV #34 Louisville
That's 1/2 our conference in the top 35

Michigan State is the top of the heap in a CRAP conference. I don't care that they played hard against UCLA when UCLA didn't have Collison.
Until they play a real contender, vs. pretender TX and BYU, I will continue sleeping on them.
Finally, give me a break...THIRTY-SIX points against a craptastic Iowa squad. No they are NOT better than us.
TN is a closer bet, but we should be ranked higher than them too.

A CRAP conference whose 3 ranked teams are overall ranked higher than the identical number of ranked BE teams

I'm pulling for a Duke win(s) over UNC this year. Would love for Duke to stay inflated in the rankings, ensuring a lower (#2) seed for UNC in the tourney. That way, UNC won't be in our bracket (I think we're a #2 seed too), and Duke will get upset in or before the Sweet 16.

We're a low Top-25 team for the first 35 minutes of a game and a Top 5 team for the last 5 minutes.
