Dear opposing teams,
I'm not normally in the habit of giving you hints, but as proven by Pitt last year, UConn, and once again by Syracuse, when you beat your chests on our court, you drastically decrease your chances of winning.
You are welcome,
BubbRubb

PS: And when your drunk skank fans who keep yelling "What's a Hoya?" start taking pictures of the scoreboard with 2 minutes left to play, that doesn't bode well for you either.

Everything about Syracuse sucks. They started a chant in the 200-level bathroom right before OT started. Called Hibbert a little boy and we're chokers, blah, blah, blah. I reminded them that we fought back to tie the game up.
God, I hate Syracuse. ND fans are smug, WV hicks, UConn just annoying. But 'Cuse fans...ugh.

I remember Onagnu (sp?) coming out to half court for some fist bumps with Flynn at the 8 minute TO and was certain I saw Levance Fields.
IBHG, that is probably how long it took them to figure out how to use their camera phone, and then they probably drained the battery.

I'm quite sure that Greene actually missed his own chest on one attempt...

Roy beat his chest last night, too. I agree it's kinda lame but it's not like we don't do it.

So did Sapp, but under the circumstances, I don't think there is a person on the planet who wouldn't have done so after displaying the onions that Jessie showed in the closing moments of regulation. And it was, as mapei points out, his house.

Yeah the chest pound itself, as an action, doesn't bother me. You don't do it with significant time left on the clock and on the road.

I'm sorry that the subtleties of my nuanced post proved so difficult to discern, so let me spell it out for you. I was stating the fact that teams who have loudly proclaimed victory by beating their chests on our court have lost in the past two years. I wasn't calling it lame (though good call...it is) or passing judgment; I was simply observing events. Roy's beating his chest on his own floor has no bearing on this fact. Thanks.

not only was there chest beating, but i'm pretty sure that at one point at least one Cuse player raised his arms up to the crowd, as if trying to get them loud (like Pat sometimes does). so not only was the number and loudness of Orange fans there last night disgraceful, but it was even worse that an opposing player felt like he could start playing to a friendly crowd in our house as if victory were assured. when i saw that i just said "i hope we make him learn his lesson." i think we did.

What I found humorous was Donte Greene's s--t eating grin when he hit those consecutive three pointers and how he left his arm dangling up there as though he just hit the game winner. With four minutes left. In regulation. Of a game that went into overtime. And which you eventually lost. Stupid freshman.

I wasn't calling it lame (though good call...it is) or passing judgment; I was simply observing events. This calls for a detailed statistical analysis by either CO_Hoya or SFHoya. A theory--perhaps Onoaku and Flynn's chest beating was merely to get their arms warmed up & loose in anticipation of playing the final 10 minutes with their hands around their own throat.

The team needs to take after Tyler Crawford more. Instead of beating on our own chests, why not take a couple swings at the opponent? Makes much more sense to me.

He had the same grin after the one and only shot he made in the first half.....I think it made the game 7-5 or something like that. You would have sworn it was a huge shot with less than a minute left. That is this year's SU team though. They have some talent, no doubt, but no one knows it better than they do.
