Section 118 seemed to be all clear. Granted my seat doesn't give me the greatest vantage point to see what's going on in the back of the section, but it seemed 100% Gtown (and mostly class of 2006, which is cool). One of the problems is that a lot of companies in the DC area own boxes or lower bowl seats to these games and they raffle them or make them available to employees in such a way that opposing fans have an equal shot at getting them. If anyone can identify such companies, I will begin to divest myself from them. There was one guy in a UConn football shirt towards the back of 118. And those guys from Penn in the second row...with all the questions they were asking me, I neglected to ask them the most important one - why were the even there?

By the way, if anyone wants to see Wyclef in NYC on Wednesday night I have two extra tickets. If you sell them to UConn fans we're going to kick your ass.

I'm not going to get too deep into capitalism vs. morality of selling tickets to the enemy, because I personally can see both sides to the argument (as long as they are general seats and not YA/student section tix, which are specifically designated as such for a reason), but here's my $.02. I know for a fact through family that at UNC, they encourage people to report your seat row and number to the ticket office if they find opposing teams' fans using your seats in the alumni/student sections. If you don't have a reasonable explanation (ex. my wife is a _____ grad and wanted to go see the game with me, etc.), you lose your season ticket privileges. Whether that's fair or not, and whether or not I'd like to see G'town implement a similar system, I'm not sure. Obviously, I don't want to see too many opposing fans in good seats at Verizon, but if some schmuck from UConn wants to personally cover over half the cost of a season ticket to watch Roy crush his hopes and dreams like one poster said earlier in this thread, it's hard to say no sometimes.
One thing I know for certain though: don't charge your fellow Hoyas an exorbitant amount on the ticket exchange thread. After all, they are Hoyas/fans of the program. Give them the benefit of the doubt. I have personally given away several tickets this year to Hoya fans, and have never charged more than face.

Section 120 (lower bowl behind the away bench) is always littered with opposing fans. It's annoying, but they're fun to heckle. The look on their faces after Roy hit the 3 was priceless though ... "That's a two! He landed inside the line!" idiots.

Section 112 Row P (Hoya Hoop Club Territory in the lower bowl) always has opposing fans sitting there. Does the Athletic Dept. know what percentage of Hoop Club season ticket holders are: alumni; friends of the program; or scalpers with no connection to GU?
I suspect in the late 90s and early 00s the Hoop Club was partially subsidized by scalpers, and that the scalpers have been able to ride the wave as the program improved over the last couple of years. This is disappointing for G'town alumni who would love to purchase season tickets but can't because they are "owned" by scalpers with no affiliation to the university.

Lord knows I got some dirty looks and comments when I showed up in grey in the coaches' seats in Cameron, but they all accepted it when they realized I was with the gal in Devil blue next to me. TVBP!

Money makes the world go round people!!! A lot of seat are not owned by people, but big faceless corporations and lobbists. Those companies use the seats to shmooze clients or give away to employees. That is why the other team's fans are in the lower bowl. You want to fix the problem?? Get yourself a large company and buy the seats. Done and done. Now stop bitching about the crowd and get back to talking about how great Roy is. You really think companies are buying up Georgetown tickets to schmooze? Really? Maybe a Wizards ticket, or even a Caps ticket, but I doubt a 12:00 Saturday start versus Radford is all that appealing.

I have no problem if you bring someone with you (a la Hoyatables). They're usually under strict instructions (on pain of YA/student infliction of pain) not to be too vocal. Tough dookie for them if they aren't. It does annoy me that StubHub doesn't actually put tickets in the hands of GU fans, despite their advertising of that. That's why we usually go with craigslist or the Exchange board. That way you deal with someone in person, you can get face value (or better) and amid the email exchange, you can usually get a feel for how they lean.

hahaha - I was in 104, row F 007 - right behind those two UConn guys - while they were wearing their gear and everything, they were perfectly civil from what I could tell and I ragged on them big time when we went on the 11-2 run to close the game. They were yelling a lot of stuff that got annoying. They were alright early on, but they got worse as they drank more. They also thought they were hilarious as they chanted "spoiled white kids" in between every break in "Lets Go Hoyas".

Students at a game "getting worse as they drank more" - shocking, absolutely shocking - I'm sure glad none of that goes on among the GU fans.

I think a great first step is to encourage the ticket exchange board as much as possible. I've put in many requests through it and have not had any luck...
