How's this for an uncomfortable exit? Moments after beating TU, Dennis Franchione and Bill Byrne (AD) enter the media room. Franchione announced his "resignation" and as Byrne reads his own statement, Fran walks out. www.kbtx.com/home/headlines/11773351.html

Austin calls the Hogs upset of the IDIOT IN WHITE HAT!!!! Awesome call Austin--and I know you are likely not in a great mood considering how Mack and the boys gagged in College Station, but the LSU loss was best thing to happen since Ohio State loss--because that idiot Miles got away with another ignorant play--the 4th and 1 fake QB sneak/sweep, throw back lateral. WTH was that? Flynn would've had 1st down with ease and Tigers take that risk for absolutely no reason? They are just ignorant down there.
BTW--3 LSU players did the Willis Reed yesterday--Dorsey (biggest wimp on the field and can't hold Sedrick Ellis' jock), Flynn (who doesn't look like Matt Damon), and Craig Steltz--who is actually a good player.
Darren McFadden was fantastic-but Felix Jones had the big runs in my opinion--his burst is unreal--just really accelerates at the key moment.
All I can say--couldn't happen to a nicer group of RUBES and Casey wasn't the only DICK on the field yesterday--albeit, he was the only one I was pulling for in yesterday's game.
Nebraska scores 51 in Boulder--and loses by 2 TD's--NEVER thought I'd see that day.
Fran "retiring" is best--and hope he never coaches again for the stunt he pulled in Bama to those kids he screwed over.
Does the sun ever shine when Texas plays in College Station? Always seems to be a damp/awful day--but Aggies showed up and Goodson was impressive. I was shocked by McGee's output as I still think Jarrod Johnson is a better QB prospect-but that's just my two cents-and I like McGee's toughness, but like Johnson's talent more.

Definitely a nice call by Austin on the Ar-Kansas win over LSU, and like RDF, I was loving it. Ar-Kansas indeed. Where did Les Miles grow up, on the moon? But I have to admit, that game was riveting. I intended on doing some work Friday afternoon, but I just couldn't turn that one off.
Not so good on some of those other picks, though.
Missed the UCLA-Oregon game today due to attending my daughter's play date. Thank God. Nothing says quality like two teams playing fourth or fifth string quarterbacks and going 7-40 on third down conversions. I'm going to have to cover my eyes next week when the Bruins play the Trojans.
And please, Missouri, beat Oklahoma next week, ok? I actually have been a Sooners fan for many years, but I can't bear the thought of tOSU back dooring their way into the BCS title game. That's the only potential negative aspect of LSU's loss.

I'm going to have to cover my eyes next week when the Bruins play the Trojans. If you thought that was bad, you should have tried watching Notre Dame-Stanford. Dropped passes, numerous penalties, horrible blocking, badly missed field goals, anemic offenses, and countless squandered opportunities, on both sides. Made me want to vomit. BTW, did anybody see that helmet-to-helmet hit on Stanford QB Tavita Pritchard? Just awful. Commentators put it best that it would've been a hefty fine had it happened in the NFL. Yet the officials called no penalty. I hope this play gets reviewed, because it was a truly vicious, illegal hit on a QB that could have produced a really serious injury (thankfully, it did not).

A WV-Mizzou title game would be extremely entertaining to watch, although I don't know if could live with myself if I knew that for the next ten years there will be toothless hicks coming into the booth wearing their worn and dirty "2007 national champions" XXXL shirts

Does the sun ever shine when Texas plays in College Station? Always seems to be a damp/awful day. I had seats for the game a few years ago--three quarters of pouring rain with a 10:00 am kickoff for TV--no kidding. I would have gone this year but ticket prices for this year's game was $90 for standing room and there was no public sale. Saturday's Aggie Band performance is on YouTube. The Corps marched 350 for the game.

It would be interesting to see what Ferentz could do with actual talent, but this would be a leap of faith for a lot of people in the Blue and Maize to take an in conference coach with a mediocre history Interstingly, Iowa has had multiple recruits decomitt over the weekend. This might be a telling sign or it might just be Zook working his magic (the recruits re-verbaled to UI)

Time to change the focus of this page? www.firebillmartin.com/I'll give my thoughts on Friday's debacle maƱana. At least Texas doesn't have bigger problems, like the possibility of Ferentz as head coach.

Word is Lloyd is having a major influence on the hiring process, so perhaps he is simply trying to secure his legacy. As a Michigan fan, hiring Ferentz would certainly make me wish Lloyd had decided to stay a few more years...

I heard Carr was pushing Ferentz too.
Both Carr and Kevin White of Notre Dame reportedly contacted the AD at GVSU checking up on Brian Kelly's tenure there. I wonder if White was looking at him for a possible OC.

Am I the only person who thinks the Nevada coach should lose his job? What terribly poor clock management as if the double freeze the kicker is ever a sound backup plan. I didn't expect anything better seeing as how it is the WAC, but wow. Too bad Hawaii will get Boised when it goes undefeated, and it's definitely time for Detmer to come off the top of the NCAA record books. Took me a while to see this, but .... no. Nevada's head coach is Chris Ault is a member of the College Football Hall of Fame, a Nevada graduate, and the current Nevada athletics director. He retired twice, only to come back both times due to alumni requests. He gets to retire when he's darn good and ready.

This was a missed call, but what effect does reviewing it have? They don't suspend players from reviews, do they? Frankly I thought it was illegal, but not dirty. Maybe he was trying to hurt the guy, but in my experience, he was probably just trying to make a play. Who knows. Let's talk about the worst missed call of the game (and the worst missed call I have ever seen). The ND touchdown catch that was overturned by replay. Does anyone have any thoughts on what the replay booth was thinking? It sure didn't look close.

Anyone else hearing a rumor that LSU has fired Bo Pelini?
Bower got canned at Southern Miss today too.
