I know what you mean, but "FSU" and "orgasm" are so diametrically opposed ... it's a sickening thought. But not to be lost in all of this, is that once again FSU is the haven of major and orchestrated violations. Whether it is gifts given to players, or covering up legal problems or in this case, structured cheating of significant proportion, whatever it is, FSU has more than their share of it. Granted, we have a few kids who like to smoke weed, and another who tried to help his girlfriend get her car back from a tow company, but once again, all stuff that pales by comparison to standard operating procedure at that school out west.

I can only wonder if/hope that this is true, but it sounds like the Gators got a better than average kid in this Emmanuel Moody from USC:
After missing most of the spring with a hamstring injury, Moody opened fall camp well down USC's talented tailback depth chart and decided to transfer.
The natural assumption was Moody decided to leave USC because he didn't want to share playing time with all those other tailbacks. UF running backs coach Stan Drayton said that assumption is not correct.
"He left Los Angeles because he felt like he couldn't get his focus there. There were too many distractions," Drayton said. "Now he's at a place, in Gainesville, where football and academics are the main focus."
"Right now, he seems to be flourishing. He'd (sic) doing phenomenal in the classroon. He's a very religious kid and he's found a spiritual foundation here. Everything seems to be going real (sic) well. He's an extremely mature kid on and off the field." ... "He has a combination of size and speed. We have guys that have size, but maybe not that top-end speed and I have some guys who are small and fast that maybe don't bring all the physical attributes. He's a combination of all of that. I'm hoping he can be a complete back for us."

LMAO. Here's what the coach really meant:

In all seriousness, what I was stressing was the apparent "self control" that Moody supposedly has. I am not naive, and fully understand that we would all expect the coaches to do/say the "right" thing to support their own player, especially in the media's eyes. Still, I don't think it is totally unusual to, at least, find a slight degree of solace, and even slight reassurance in what I have heard about this guy.

Time will tell. I think the consensus out here among people who don't really know (like myself) is that Moody wasn't confident that he could become the showcase back among so much competition. Perhaps he just didn't like Los Angeles. In any event, I wish him luck and hope he succeeds, even at Florida, since to me any place is better than USC. ;D

Moody is talented no doubt--he's also injured--a lot. Was injured his SR year in HS, injured his 1 year at USC, injured in Spring/offseason workouts---and saw handwriting on the wall--this Bible Thumping stuff they are saying down in Gainesville is comical---guys find the "lord" when they go down there--and I guess the "lord" only resides in Gainesville, FL. Moody was a Texas commit---decommitted from Texas to USC and he ends up at UF. If Moody isn't the featured back--and doesn't get the ball 18-20 times per game--he'll search for the "lord" somewhere else.

I still haven't heard a list of names of the FSU suspensions, but I did see that of the 23 players, 10 were starters. I would suggest getting some action on Kentucky. I thought they were going to win anyway. Now it's a lock.

I'm not giving you crap Hifi--Moody's got some issues--and they all point to his interfering family--think it's an older brother or uncle or something--but they are TROUBLE. As long as all goes well-you are fine--he supposedly chose USC over Texas due to their "Asian American Population" and didn't realize that Gainesville, Florida had become the capital of Asian Americans who are holier then thou--but godspeed--Mr. Moody.

I was in San Francisco today, site of the Emerald Bowl, I believe, between the Beavers of Oregon State U and the Twerps of Maryland. Saw lots of Beaver fans, but as we passed the Hyatt Regency, three buses were at the curb and the Md team was boarding them. Of course, wise cracks like Hoya Saxa or Go Hoyas went through my mind, but we just waited in silence while they boarded the bus.

They didn't win the game, but "at least" they got to experience San Fran and then a "short" trip home.
