For NYC Hoya fans, there is a possible way to watch the game in the city. A friend of mine at work is a Cuse alum and received an e-mail from the local alumni chapter that they are able to watch the game at Proof in Murray Hill. They must be picking up the satellite feed from the local coverage in Syracuse.
I am trying to confirm that they will be showing it there. If so, it may be worthwhile to get a Hoya contingent to infiltrate the watch party.

I called proof and just got a call back. the guy sad they are showing it and that it is on their schedule. I told him my concerns about it not being listed on any cable or satellite except up in the syracuse region. he said he would confirm and call me back shortly. I am down to go if it is showing there and when I get word back I will post it.

I live in the 'cuse and the game will be on the "SU time warner station." I cant believe with Gtowns hot start and SU in the top 10 that this game wouldnt be on TV across the country. I will watch as we shake up the world and make our claim for the top 25!!!!!

Any chance one of you guys could record it on tape. I could then convert it to digital format and send it out to those who won't be able to watch. Let me know. My e-mail is mrnevarez@sbcglobal.net. Thanks.

I just called ESPNZone to ask if they were going to get a feed of the game and before I could even get the word "Georgetown" out of my mouth, the woman at ESPNZone said that it was the one game they won't have tonight There are 2 things that I concluded from this 1) A bunch of Syracuse and Georgetown NY'ers have already called to ask about this game, showing that there IS heavy interest in it. 2) It's hard to believe that any other bar will be able to get the feed from Syracuse if ESPNZone can't get it because ESPNZone usually shows games outside of ESPN Full Court too if there is interest.

I am hopeful that ESPN will at least do "live look-ins" if the game is close late. Kind of doubt that will happen but who knows.

The bar in question may have a C-Band or Ku-Band dish that can pick up the game. The problem is, even if you know which satellite will have the feed, you can never be entirely sure that it will come in.
Nowadays 99% of what you need on satellite can be found on DirecTV so most bars have gone away from the old dinosaur satellite dishes.

Dam - thanks HoyaJG.
I guess we deserve it considering we were relying on a group of Cuse people to arrange a venue to watch the game.
BTW - Anyone else notice that ESPN has decided to show the 4-10 Boilermakers against Mich. St. That matchup definitely will draw better ratings here in NYC.

this really blows, but it fuel my energy even more for giving the networks $h*T about not covering the game. For those of you that havent already called, please voice your dismay via the methods posted earlier, let them know that they could have had a big crowd for this game.

As a precursor, I must say that I dont think this information is very reliable, but on my lunch break today I walked by a bar called Becky's (around 63rd and 1st) that had a list of basketball games on a chalkboard outside the bar. Gtown vs. Syracuse was on the board so I walked in and asked the British girl bartending if the game was really being shown there. She stared into space for about 10 seconds and then said "uhhh yeah" so there is a chance it is being shown there, however I am pretty skeptical and dont think this girl had a clue what she was talking about. I then called the bar from work to ask again hoping to speak with someone else, but I got the same girl again and the same answer so there is a chance, but I dont really see how Becky's Pub can get a game that nobody else in New york city can get access to...

well the guy at proof who I talked too, checked into it for a couple hours and was unable to find any way to get the game there, and said no one in NYC could carry the game. I tend to believe him, but checking it out can't hurt. I'd call the management and make sure they know it is not on full court.

I know I am beating this topic to death, but I just called Time Warner Cable of New York to urge them to talk with their Syracuse affiliate to air the game on a nyc channel this evening. Needless to say, the Time Warner operator apologized, said she would bring it up to her boss and that it most likely would not happen for tonight but she was glad I brought the issue to her attention. That aside, she told me that for issues of scheduling and affliliate coordination, that I should address as letter to Robert Watson, Time Warner VP of Programming and New Business Development. He is the one in charge of this type of thing she said and if we send lots of letters, she said we would have a shot at getting things changed for the next time or at least getting ourselves in the back of his mind. Anyway, his address is, his title at Time Warner 120 East 23rd Street 9th Floor, New York, NY 10010. Anyway, I took this one step further as I don’t want to wait to send him a letter and I found this online, Bob WatsonVP Programming & New Business DvlpmtTime Warner Cable NYC120 E 23rd StNew York, NY 10010-4519 P) 212.598.7363 F) 212.364.9810 bob.watson@twcable.com Visit the New York chapter Web site at www.ctamnewyork.com. So lets get the ball rolling and start to email this guy. Obviously tonight might be a wash but we can start to get recognition for the next time. Some have forgotten, We will remind them!
