agree with the Way on Kobe...he is the real mvp of the NBA period. Ridiculous to even mention Nash in the same breadth and Magic, Duncan, Larry, ect.
hoping the heat comes out swinging tonite against the nets...another performance like mondays, and its over. I still think they have it in them to take this series (despite the fact that i picked nets in 6), but its all about Shaq not getting called for ridiculous fouls. THe fact that they turned a 28 point lead into a 9 point lead in the fourth quarter showed some promise, but team just has to play better.

NBA journalists know more about the league than both the_way and miami. And they knew enough to choose Nash. Get over it, boys. Kobe wasn't MVP.

I don't really follow the NBA, but I do know that if you tried to make that argument about MLB writers, you'd get laughed at by most people that follow the sport. And, I think it'd be fair to say that if you tried to use that argument about NCAA hoops you'd get the same reaction. My guess is that using "NBA writers know best" as an argument is probably pretty stupid as well.

MCI is obviously taking the position that if they agree with me, they must know what they are doing. ;D

MCI, not saying Bryant was the MVP, but this argument blows when you consider some of the guys who are "NBA Journalists". I liked your case for Chauncey Billups more then theirs for Nash this year but that's just me. I'd have given it to LeBron James personally, but the fact Nash got it and in the landslide fashion proves there is a bias involved here. Heard one guy with a vote mention "The Suns lead the league in scoring again without Amare"--well they will as long as they never play defense and play a style that is run and gun. Paul Westhead and Loyola Marymount were fun to watch too--but did Bo Kimble deserve to get the Player of Year award for scoring or Hank Gathers for that matter? These guys are awful with the awards in majority of cases and fact Jason Kidd made First Team All Defense and Kobe did too is funny because I don't think either deserved that. Kidd has seen his defensive abilities go south and Anthony Johnson was torching him throughout the First Round to back this up even more, and Kobe is an overrated defensive player--not terrible but not as great as he gets credit for.
