I am embarking on a singluar quest to re-create a Chicken Madness in my own kitchen. I am relying on you, my fellow Hoyas to help me out to identify the following. My stomach thanks you.
INGREDIENTS Chicken Breast (preferably frozen) Cheese (provalone, shredded? in circular slices?) Green Peppers, cut in cubes Red Peppers, cut in cubes White Onion Garlic Powder (other spices? chili powder?) Bacon (pre-cooked?) Shredded Lettuce Tomato Mayo Sandwich roll (specifics?)
METHODOLOGY
Place frozen chicken on grittle (with oil?), stab a couple of times, in separate pile cook onions and peppers??? and then it just breaks down...
INTANGIBLES What am I missing besides a case of the Beast? Paper plate?

I'd also add a pickle and bag of Utz potato chips.

Definitely chili powder. From what I remember of the provolone, it was a slice put on top of the chicken on the grill so that it melted.

First, cook a whole mess of bacon, egg and cheese croissants on the griddle, to "season" the cooking surface...
I know that the roll gets lightly toasted, then you put the mayo, lettuce and tomato onto it, and add the final "griddled" product, but I'm not sure about all the middle steps.

As good as the burger madness was for lunch/dinner, I think the breakfast special sandwich (with sausage) was that good for breakfast.
I've had just as much trouble trying to come up with the burger madness:
Two patties onions spices cook add pre-cooked bacon chop up add cheese put on roll with lettuce, tomato, mayo
it must be the spices? garlic powder? onion powder?

It was cayenne pepper, not chili powder in the chicken madness. Garlic powder was definitely featured. Don't forget to make it a "Summer Special" and add a can of soda....

Are you sure that cayenne wasn't hot paprika?

Great thread.
I think it was chili pepper. Oh man, I'm gotta' have me a Madness this weekend.
Burger Madness was an excellent but distant second.

I really think it's the nasty (or "seasoned", depending on your viewpoint) griddle that makes the sandwich. Many have tried, but I don't know of anyone who's ever replicated it.

I'm a burger madness kind of a guy...I'm getting so hungry right now.
I think they just put all the spices on chicken madness unless you asked otherwise.
Plus, don't forget to wear one of those chef hats and a greasy t-shirt. All for show.

Can an existing student or DC resident perform some primary research on the topic and report back.
Benefit is that you get to a eat a freshly-made Chicken Madness while the rest of us tinker in our kitchens to create a mediocre facsimile.

As to the cheese, in your first post -- it's provolone, circular slice, I believe regularly sliced from one of the large deli hunks.

The red stuff is paprika, the "heat" you taste comes from little chopped up jalepenos, not green peppers.
I actually used to cook in a restaurant, and re-created there with great success....of course I had access to restaurant quality ingredients and a large griddle, but it is very possible to make at home.....

I'm sticking with my cayenne pepper call. In fact, I may just walk over there right now and settle this once and for all.....

I'm also not sure there were onions on it.
Don't think there were chopped up jalepenos.

I worked at Weisies- but not at the grill. I think it was paprika but might have been cayenne. I really don't think it was chili powder and am pretty sure there were no jalapenos- chopped or no.

I think this thread is due for a good "BRING BACK TOWELS!!! DRINK BEER THROUGH STRAWS!!!" post from one of my favorite occasional posters.

Bump-a-di-bump
Can anyone report back with first-hand details. The fate of a solidly frozen chicken boobie depends on it. (Can I use that word on this board?)
