Cambridge. I hate Boheem like the next guy. But I hate the terd Calhoun worst. Boheem never liked us, but he respected us. Boheem even said at one point that "I don't think there is better college basketball coach in America than John Thompson". You think that terd Calhoun would say that. No he would rather say Emeka Okafor is better than Alonso Mourning and Patrick Ewing in their day. But I give credit where credit is due. Any guy whose teams only play 2-3 zone because he doesn't know how to coach anything else, and still be successful in the big east and also win a national title doing it, and also play in 2 other championship games, is a great coach. ;D I'd take Boheem over the Terd Calhoun anyday. The Lesser of two evils.

Best Coach in the Big EAST? Eh, dude I don't think so. I think Boheim is a better coach. JT was a better coach than Calhoun, and JTIII is a better coach than Calhoun. Calhoun is certainly more accomplished. There's a chance he'll have enough votes for the Hall of Fame this year.

I would just like to say that I'll be there at noon on Saturday against UConn, in my usual blue wig and aviators and doing my usual screaming my lungs out. After a red-eye flight from California that gets in to Dulles at around 7am, I will get to my friend hoyabinx's house, sleep for an hour or two, proceed to drink heavily, and show up rowdy and sleep deprived as hell for another great upset.
GO HOYAS!!!

Also, it was mentioned on another thread that MCI could be "Storrs South" come Saturday, with the lack of out-of-town students. We cannot let this happen. And when I say WE, I don't mean students, although I'm one out-of-town student that will be there up front. I'm talking ALL Georgetown fans. There will be UConn fans there, I'll accept that, but we are GEORGETOWN and we need to come out there and be loud as all hell. Hell has already frozen over: We beat #10 Pitt on the ROAD. It's time to do it at MCI: let's turn up the temperature a little more on Saturday.

Anyone from the Los Angeles area know of a good bar where they might have the game tomorrow? If so, let me know.

Sorry, way. Calhoun is the better coach. Hands down. You may not like either of them, but the guy knows what he is doing.

Dan, you are starting to make me wonder about you. Where is your loyalty to the blue and gray? ;D

Dan, you are starting to make me wonder about you. Where is your loyalty to the blue and gray? ;D Has nothing to do with loyalty. Just makes it sweeter when the Hoyas kick his.... Seriously though - did you ever see any of Calhoun's Northeastern teams, particularly those with Reggie Lewis? You could see the guy could coach even then. Finally, Calhoun is GREAT theater. Remember his post-game rant last year when asked why he didn't recruit Ryan Gomes - ranks up with the top bleep fests we listed here a few weeks ago. www.dailyorange.com/news/2004/01/28/Sports/Question.On.Gomes.Sparks.Calhouns.Tirade-589853.shtml

I have to agree. Boeheim is a whiner and he's arrogant. Calhoun, with exception at times, is a class act. Being from CT, but hating the Huskies, he's very well respected for his donations to the community, etc. He's a good guy.

Hey, Dan. Yeah the quote about Ryan Gomes from Calhoun was classic. "I (bleeped) up. I didn't take Ryan Gomes." I'm laughing right now thinking about it.

Hey, Dan. Yeah the quote about Ryan Gomes from Calhoun was classic. "I (bleeped) up. I didn't take Ryan Gomes." I'm laughing right now thinking about it. Not to mention he has the proper perspective on BenedictArnold College. sports.bostonherald.com/college/view.bg?articleid=61873

Oh yeah Cambridge. Don't foget his , ehem, "recruitment" of Rudy Gay that had Gary Williams riled up. Jim Calhoun knows how to, ehem, "recruit" better than most coaches, save for Jerry Tarkanian. Don't Forget Jim Calhoun's former assistant's "escort service" dilemma from last year.

my favorite calhoun moment: calhoun does these silly commercials for webster bank (local bank here in ct). there was one where calhoun is showing a number of 4-5 year-olds how to tie their shoes (bunny goes through the hole...). you get the picture. anyway, that commercial aired and the game comes back on immediately after the commercial. the camera is focused on calhoun yelling at his players and clearly heard is "START PLAYING YOU MOTHER F******'S!" i laughed for a good 5 minutes and i still chuckle when i think about it.
that being said, i think calhoun's the best coach in america and has proven himself against the top coaches in the country. for the basketabll writers not to vote him in the hof on the same day as his 2nd title was ridiculous.

I think the terd should be in the Hall of Fame. Best Coach in America, I still say Rick Pitino. If he hadn't left Kentucky, he whould have at least 2 more National titles, maybe three by now to add to the one he won in 1996. Rick Pitino is a master.

Hey Wilson, can't you say that about every coach. Who made the game saving block against Kansas in the championship game. Not Melo, but Hakim Warrick. Don't Forget McNamara. It wasn't like it was Melo and the Miracles, like Reggie and the Miracles of '87. Hey, I'm not saying Boheem is the greatest. But hey, cut the cry-baby some slack. The man can coach.
