I saw something on a rivals site about a 2-star prospect (defensive line or LB?) from Illinois who will be visiting G'town in the next couple of weeks

I heard a 6'5" 300 lbs OL from Kansas committed. Can anyone verify that?

Well, Hutton (linked above) hasn't committed, but has indicated that he'll be deciding soon and that GU leads over the other I-AA schools he's received offers from. Sounds like he'd like to sign on with Kansas, but it's not clear if he's got an offer there yet.
Rivals has him at 6'3" and 285, by the way.

More on Tillman. Stats from 2004 on link below. It appears that he may have been hurt for a few games in the middle of the year--just a guess due to his reduced numbers. www.washingtonpost.com/ac2/wp-dyn/sports/highschools/statpack/player?sportid=1&playerid=67718&teamid=82_1For anyone wondering why there's no news, there are a lot of prospects coming in for visits. Unless the kid is terrific, offers and commitments often occur late in the process. If the weather doesn't get in the way, a bunch of recruits are scheduled to be at the banquet. Might be some signings next week.

This was posted today on Rivals...
Hutton Says Georgetown By Bob Hovey
Wichita Collegiate offensive tackle Tom Hutton has made up his mind and has verbalized to Georgetown University to play football next season. A strong force on Collegiate's teams since he was a freshman, Hutton has been a two time HSP All-State player on the offensive line.
At 6-5 and 280, Hutton has had several schools looking at him.
The following statement was released by Tom Hutton on Monday, January 24, 2005:
"I, Tom Hutton, from Wichita Collegiate School in Wichita, Kansas, have decided to commit and play football for Georgetown University in Washington, D.C.
I have been recruited by a many Division I-A schools, including an offer from the University of Kansas and invitations to play at Kansas State, TCU, and Miami (FL) and numerous offers from Division I-AA schools such as Lehigh, UMass, and Holy Cross but have chosen to play for Georgetown for various reasons.
During the football season, I talked with Georgetown's head coach, Bob Benson, on a weekly basis and soon began to appreciate his enthusiasm, both for the game of football and his players. Coach Benson of Georgetown reminded me that getting a college degree from Georgetown opens the doors to a lot of opportunities that I could not reasonably expect if I played football elsewhere.
Georgetown is one of the most highly respected colleges and is playing football at Georgetown will allow me have a proper mix of academics and athletics. I am looking forward to playing for Coach Benson at Georgetown and truly appreciate the professionalism that he exhibited during the recruiting process."

Do you have the link for the article? I believe Venditti is a RB and Helt is listed as a QB on the Central Catholic roster. Thanks.

My son recently verbally committed to G'town. After reading thru many of the posts regarding the HC, facilities (and the lacking belief that they're being upgraded), and the teams record, I'm pretty shocked over the amount of negativity. He's being recruited by a number of other 1-AA schools and I think before he signs his committment letter I'm going to speak with him about what I've read here. He has other choices and with football being so important to him, no way do I want him making a mistake. Thanks for the informative invective.
