The hardest part about this game is that Fordham appears to be eminently beatable. Lafayette demonstrated that the Rams were vulnerable against the option, and Crawford and Sarin have executed it reasonably well when asked to, but nothing seems to be going right for this team. I haven't heard anything on the radio which would suggest that the offense has done anything: 28 carries for 51 yards. This offense has scored all of ONE touchdown in PL play all season. (That came off a fumble recovered at the two yard line versus Bucknell.) And now it's 4th and 12 and Goethals is hurt.

Davis returns the kick from the 15 and gets the ball out to the 30.
Crawford and offense return to the field.
1st and 10 from the 30: Sarin off the right guard for a yard 2nd and 9: Option, Crawford keeps it and gets drilled 3rd and 13: Crawford in the shotgun, keeps the ball and crosses the 22 for a gain of 2 yards.
Georgetown offensive lineman down, officials calling in the medical staff, appears to be Brian Goethals, ends up being helped off by two fellow offensive lineman, not putting any weight on leg
4th and 12: good snap, line drive kick, Prydatko is pushed out of bounds around the 27 after a gain of 1.

you think Cangelosi will ever see the field again?

Well, I guess I've spoken too soon about running the option. Other Patriot League opponents may have run freely on the Rams, but with Fordham consistently stacking the box, they're going to make that particularly difficult.

I would guess Cangelosi would see the field later in the season, but I don't think there's any % in throwing him into this game at this juncture. Better to let Crawford finish things out, and give Cangelosi a shot by designating him as the starter with a full week of practice.

1st and 10 for Fordham at the 23

Sarin back to recive the punt, ball bounces around 50

Put in Cangelosi over Allan.

Maybe the staff thinks there's an advantage to having Allan in the game as far as running the option, but at this point, it should be pass, pass, pass, and Crawford seems to be the only QB who's capable of that. I hate to say it, but if you're behind by 3+ TDs, why sub in a guy who's under 40% passing?
Very disappointing. The Fordham radio team indicated that Cangelosi was listed at #2, so apparently the staff's thrown Allan in just to finish this debacle up. Ugly situation all around, and I don't know where to begin to assign blame.

I agree - the period for fumbling around as a program, trying to find its bearings in a new league have passed. It feels like we've seen less and less progress with each passing year.
Winning and losing may be contagious, but at some point you just have to cut your losses. This program needs to get a hard look this offseason.

The offense is nonexistent, largely beause it was designed as an option system without any option players.
Might have worked with Turner, but we'll never know.

Keith Allan comes in at QB
1st and 10: option pitch to Sarin who attempts the pass to Janiero Wooten but throws short 2nd and 10 from 40 yard line: Davis up the middle runs up almost to the 50, few yards short of the first 3rd and short: Run by Davis for the first down, inside Ram territory at the 43 yard line.
1st and 10: Allan on the run, brought down for a sack
another Georgetown injury, receiver down, apparently Dan Paulus
2nd and 15, ball at the 48: Allan fakes the handoff and keeps it, just gets back to the line of scrimmage 3rd and 15: Play clock running down, Allan calls timeout -Allan from the gun, false start on Georgetown 3rd and 20: Allan from the gun, Allan incomplete over the middle, ball tipped near the line 4th and 15: Georgetown to punt
Smith with a great high kick to Prydatko, brought down around the 13, but there are more flags down
Offsetting personal fouls, this is getting very ugly
Re-kick: good snap, nice kick, Prydatko takes it at the 15 and is wrapped up at the 18

i hope they dont lose their multi-sport stadium, but people are going to start wondering why an improving d1 baseball team gets nothing, a top 10 track gets nothing, and a 2-9 I-aa fball team gets all the goods. i think its time to look at the top and think this program can be saved.

Who commits to a particular system when you've only got one, maybe two guys to fill key rolls in it? At the very least, the possibility of injury should lead one to come up with a less one-dimensional scheme.
If you have no other strengths to play to, then that's a whole other problem, but I don't see that either of these are just "tough luck" situations. I'm pretty sure it's somebody's responsibility to see to it that there's a workable backup plan and personnel to run it.

I think the consistency and frequency of these penalties is very telling.
