I think we're missing the point with these new traditions. Isn't the whole idea that "some have forgotten . . ." and now we are reminding them? This team has the proper respect for Georgetown tradition and the Hoya basketball family and that may be the fact that I love most about them.
Don't get me wrong new traditions are great. In fact I take partial credit (along with the then-newly elected HoyaBlue) for starting the Roy chant. After hearing it on the Starbucks Espresso commercial, I remember planning it, and then one of the first games like Vandy I tried it when the band was playing Eye of the Tiger . . and it did not catch on with everyone. I think it took off at the Duke game. Or maybe it was when I spent that entire day following Roy around singing it. One or the other.
