There is room for both, assuming you mean Gilchrest, who could come in mid-year. But, there would be no scholarships left for 2008.

Is it unusual he didn't have a press conference like Freeman did?

I think DS needs at least two more years to work on his agression around the cup and handle. A big should be the priority now. Either DR for '09 or GG for '08. HT is probably the next person on the board for the staff though.

yeah, Summers needs at least 2 more years. Wing players are not a rare commodity in the NBA, so Summers really needs to work on his handles and rebounding.

This is absolutely fantastic. I am at a loss for words. I remember Freeman, Wright and Clark (or was it Braswell?) all verballed the same week last year and I was so excited then that I was bouncing off the walls in my office. I didn't think that week in recruiting news could be surpassed, and I'm thrilled that they're already on campus or coming next year, but this is amazing news. Welcome to the Hilltop, Greg!
And as other posters have mentioned, HUGE kudos to Hoya Blue, the entire staff and the current players for making last night such a success. This program is the epitome of class and talent and I'm so incredibly proud to be a Hoya.

LSU, Duke, Kentucky, Louisville and Kansas.
Those are the five schools that the Sporting News preview (which I purchased about a week ago) bother to list as being among the schools recruiting Monroe. Ha! The CBS Preview mag listed Georgetown but it had the school way down the list (even behind USC) with Duke and LSU essentially being the top two selections.

Thanks Guys---I totally agree about DS really needing at least two more years to possibly jumping into a lottery position. Another question: Any thoughts about where you gues would rank the HOYAS recruiting class for '08 NOW ?

Is it unusual he didn't have a press conference like Freeman did? Although the trend has been toward press conferences for the top players, I can't say that I'm surprised he didn't go that route. Although he allowed his recruitment to last longer than most, a tactic some use to keep the spotlight on themselves, I never had the impression that he was anything but humble. He seems like a real good kid, and his choice of school only confirms that assessment. I couldn't be happier. Welcome to the hilltop, Greg.

Besides....if Monroe was to have a press conference wouldn't he have at least waited until he got back home?

Another question: Any thoughts about where you gues would rank the HOYAS recruiting class for '08 NOW ? Granted hindsight is 20/20 and all that, but it's fun reading this exchange on the Duke board given that Greg has made up his mind. www.dukebasketballreport.com/forums/showthread.php?p=48741My favorite: "If he is still taking visits then all 5 schools are in it. Visits quite often change everything. It sounds to me like the recruiting guru for Rivals thinks Monroe's order of preference entering the visits is: 1. Georgetown 1a. Duke 2. (space left empty to indicate a gap) 3. LSU 4. UConn 5. Texas --Jason "Georgetown has a nice team, but with Hibbert and Wallace graduating after this season, they don't figure to be nearly in the national title hunt next year the way Duke should be" Evans"Really Jason? Is that really true? What a edited.

If Kentucky can pull off the win today, this will be a dark day in Baton Rouge.

Gilchrist or Riek (though I'm not sure where that stands) mid-year makes a ton of sense at this point. Slightly experienced big men are always better than completely inexperienced big men and we need one more big for next year.

Sweet! Why was I wasting time writing about OGB and MSF parking? No more of that for a while - too happy after seeing the great MM YouTube stuff and then catching this. Onward & Upward, Hoya Saxa!
