I was thinking yesterday, the Hoyas of last year probably could have been 2nd in the league this season. Austin and CW would have been unanimous 1st teamers. That is why sometimes I am uneasy about the comparisons to last year. The league was murderous last season compared to this one and going 12-6 this year versus 10-8 last year really may not be an accomplishment. Also, let's be honest put last year's team in the last 5 minutes yesterday, and CW and Austin simply do not lose that game - they make their FTs and do not turn the ball over as much against pressure. That may be so on free throws, but last year's team basically had fewer scoring options and basically nobody who could score in the post. By the end of the year, Vaughn had become incredibly ineffective and scoring became very difficult for him. Sims was also not playing to the level he played yesterday, certainly. So perhaps it wouldn't have even gone to overtime, and the Hoyas may have lost? There's really no way to know. Keep in mind, our defense was also not nearly as good last year as it was this year. That's the tough thing about making these types of comparisons. There are too many factors and too many unknown factors to know what would have happened with different players. Yeah, I admit my logic was not well thought out and comparing team's year over year is difficult at best. For instance, no way our perimeter defense last year forces them into a 2-21 night from 3. However, I do stand by the statement that 10-8 last year may mean more than 12-6 this year, especially if we start breaking down the schedule. Just thinking about how deep that league was last year is scary.

Here it comes.
Little Miss Ginger just noticed the guy across the bar who plays bass in an indie band.

President Clinton sitting with Orange fans rooting for Syracuse. SMH. So depressing.

So are we still going to hear from everybody about how the Hoyas are so clearly better than Cincinnati? Maybe a few people will give the Bearcats some credit now. They're legit.

When is Sean McDonough going to start talking about how great of a season Syracuse had, and how they will still be a 1 seed?

I love the matter-of-fact way in which McDonough bitches about the refs.

I feel very sad for all those cretins from upstate NY who dealt all that cash out for finals tickets they won't be using... nice work, HoyaChris.
That will be almost as much fun as all the whining that will go on about how the refs stole this one from them.

Thank you Cats?@#@#@ for taking some of the sting out of yesterday's game. I won't have to endure hours of bs on TV tonight around here.

Ah, that couldn't be better, complete with Cronin crapping on teams leaving the conference.

Eff Cuse. Horribly managed end of game by Cincy but they still won. Bye bye Orange. Y'all suck.

Cincy has pounded Marquette, beat Gtown for the fourth straight time, and handed Syracuse their second loss of the season, all in the last two weeks. Nice run.
