sorry if this was already discussed, but isn't there some issue that incoming freshmen cannot play in summer league after summer school is over? Does the July 30-Aug. 17 schedule affect Benimon and Vee's participation? Correct me if i'm wrong I just thought that Monroe had to leave campus after summer school last summer (but maybe that was his choice).

Correct me if i'm wrong I just thought that Monroe had to leave campus after summer school last summer (but maybe that was his choice). I believe, that if the player lives close enough to live at home and play they can play (anyone from the area can play regardless of were they go to school) so Benimon COULD theoretically play if he wants to drive from Fauquier county. Also i think Monroe had to leave last year because he was a freshman. I dont believe that applies this year. But i could be completely wrong on this.

Time to bump this up, play starts next week. Any word on which players on the teams? Will DaJuan play, now that he's departed? Roy/Jeff coming back for cameos?

Ok, here’s the deal per NCAA bylaws: - The league must be certified each year by the NCAA.
- No all star games allowed.
- League must be within 100 miles of student-athlete’s official residence (as of the end of the last school year) or the school he last attended. If a league does not exist within 100 miles of his official residence, he may participate in the league closest to his residence.
- The leagues can run from 6/15 to 8/31.
- Playoffs are allowed, but must be finished by 8/31.
- On each roster, you can have no more than two players with remaining basketball eligibility from any two-year or four-year college.
- Each student-athlete can only play on one team, in one league.
- NO REVENUE SHALL BE CHARGED FOR ANY GAME OR FOR PARKING.
- Coaches and staff cannot be involved.
- After classes start, players cannot participate (they are limited to 8 hours of weekly weight training, conditioning, skills instruction) (17.1.6.2)
- Transfers do not count as a representative of either the school they are leaving or the school they are going to be attending (14.7.3.2)
I’m guessing incoming frosh are not considered to have “remaining” basketball eligibility.

Since Hollis was living on campus at then end of the last school year he should be able to play through out kenner league. Benimon lives close enough. So i guess the only person the closeness rule affects is Vee.

So i guess the only person the closeness rule affects is Vee. Even though he was living on campus, I assume his official residence is in NoCal (or Georgia or something). However, since he attended GU, I'm guessing he can play under that clause.

For those of you interested in watching Hollis play, a reliable source has him confirmed to be playing on Madness All Stars.

Will FLHoya be on the scene? Here's what I'm thinking: Long story short--Kenner League this year has lots of consecutive days, lots of later nights, and a number of single-game days when it comes to GU teams. So I'm gonna do the best I can to make the games and get recaps up in a timely manner. Sometimes that'll be the same day, sometimes the following day. If I can't do a full recap on the same day, I'll post a short version in the main recap thread with the basics on that day, then the full version the next day. Since Thursday features three GU games, the last of which starts at 9:35pm (insert your favorite Kenner League schedule joke here), the above paragraph will likely apply. Sound good?

Sounds great. Your writeups are lifeblood to many of us who are out of town and miss watching and then debating the twisted story lines of Kenner.
