Regarding Eric Dixon: Dixon said when he receives an offer, he looks up the school’s head coach and its conference to get a little background. That gives him a little bit of research to do now, with offers from the Big 12, Big East and Big Ten, plus Atlantic 10 and CAA. Picking up an offer from new Hoyas head coach Patrick Ewing meant a little something extra to the young talented post player -- and even more to his dad, also Eric. “My dad, he loves basketball, he watched all the old tapes, all the told films,” the younger Dixon said. “He saw (Ewing watching my games) and he was like ‘Eric, do you see him over there? Do you see him?’ “I just know he’s a Hall-of-Famer with a really good post game, that interests me, maybe he could teach me something if I go there,” Dixon continued. “I just know he’s a legend.” Dixon said he’s anticipating taking unofficial visits to both Georgetown and Rutgers in the next few months, working around the USA Basketball U-16 Training Camp, which begins on June 1st; Dixon will be one of 24 participants vying for a spot on the 12-member team that participates in the FIBA Americas U-16 Championship (June 14-18, Argentina). www.cityofbasketballlove.com/news_article/show/788273?referrer_id=1566508

Michael K. Williams, Omar from The Wire has a show on Viceland called Black Market. In one of the episodes, he gets on the mic and drops this line, "I’m the Baltimore bad guy, like the old Georgetown Hoya. Gun for hire, equal opportunity employer".
Pretty interesting show, in which he talks to people who participate in black market activities.

Harvey Thomas sighting??? Harvey Thomas was in the house. So were White Chocolate and Eddie Basden- gotta love the Kenner. First time seeing Rodney Pryor and Jagan Mosley- they are both freaky athletes. I think Pryor has a lot of Victor Page in him- left hand dominant, bullies people to the rim, volume shooter. Saw a Mosley/Pryor oop- been about 20 years since I last saw a Georgetown guard to guard alley oop.

Jerry Nichols dropping a 360 break-away dunk on some scrub team (Morgan State?) and immediately getting benched by Pops. A sub was at the table before Jerry's feet hit the ground!

Saw today that Bobby Hurley and Lindsey Hunter are both under consideration at DePaul.
Also, Tavaras Hardy is in the mix for the Bradley job- the new Bradley AD was at Northwestern previously.

“I’m glad we were playing basketball,” said EWU coach Jim Hayford. “I wouldn’t want to wrestle or play football with them.”
Stay classy, coach. Maybe you should not have poked the bear.

I have to admit- it is still fun to celebrate a win by flipping the channel to watch Syracuse lose at home.

Great story. When my daughter was five, we were at Verizon for a loss to Syracuse. Upset about the loss and by some obnoxious Cuse fans sitting near us, she started to cry. My parents were with us and my mom went to the classic grandparent soothing technique- offering candy. My daughter took a look at the Reese's Cups and proclaimed, "I don't want those...they are orange!"
