Reading this board I might as well not watch the 25 plus games left on the schedule. Wow...so many people caught in the moment on here. It was all good Just a week ago...after dismantling Texas & a very tough game vs the "number 1 team in the county (at the time) where the refs unfortunately had a hand in the outcome. Now this team and the Coach (the greatest player in the history of the program) are trash according to a good portion of these post. The funny thing is that if this team wins at Ok State, then the Coach is back to being a genius. It was a bad game! That it! Way to early to tell if it is anything more. The coach can only put a team in position to win. For example, I don't think Coach Ewing designed a play for Yurt7 to blow a dunk or for Akinjo to attack the basket 1 vs 3 multiple times. The real sad part is there are people on here who say they are fans of the program (some long time poster) but are actively hoping for its failure. They love days like this because they get to post their disgruntled feelings over and over again until their hearts content. Take attendance after the Hoyas win on Wednesday. The traffic on here will be significantly less as some so called fans go MIA in the moments of success. It wasn't just a bad game. It was a continuation of bad play from the beginning of the season. While Texas was ranked, they are 46th in kenpom. So I never bought into Texas being as difficult a game as many thought. That wasn't far from being an even matchup.

Who the heck said we should have been ranked after the Empire Classic? No way someone said that...

Oh and everyone wants to hype up our backcourt. All flash, no substance. You can't win in CBB when your guards can't crack 40 percent from the field. Mac gives us no assists, defense, or rebounds, if he's not scoring efficiently what value does he bring? More turnovers than assists.
Akinjo has just been bad. I don't care about big shots I care about good play game to game. Their backups are Blair and Allen. That's putrid
This is why we aren't a tournament team. 2 guys who shouldn't be relied on so heavily being the focal points.

Have your fun, this loss and the poor play by almost everyone in the court is perplexing. There is very little balance and too much dependence on Yurtseven, who seems soft as butter, and too much hero ball by Akinjo. Call it anyway you want...I don't have words for this disappointing display! Huh? I was told Yurt was tough. He's fine. But he's not good enough to be a focal point.

Leblanc is our best player and he's not starting. Foolishness. Anyway, recruiting is important. This roster isn't good enough.

How does the team play well against Duke and then have this performance? Uhh we were essentially outscored by 20 once Duke snapped out of their cold shooting. I don't think we played all that different.

Misleading. All those schools did not push for Sibley. At the end of the day, who cares. The only thing that matters is if he can play. But he beat out Iowa. Most of those schools didn't push, he was a plan B. We are recruiting a lot of athletes. Reminds me of FSU recruiting. Lots of bigs, lots of athletes. They struggled recruiting skill. Hope we get some more skill in here.

Tried to tell everyone Duke ain't that great. Losing by 10 ain't a respectable defeat.

Duke basically outscored us by 20 the last 30 minutes of the game. Duke could not buy a bucket early on, they were shooting bricks and we failed to capitalize by building a big enough cushion.
There are no great teams this year. Duke is #1 and I can definitely see them losing to some bad teams this year. They don't shoot it well enough.

Xavier’s Coach has put together a top 10 class in year 2. It is fair to say that recruiting has not gone as expected yet for Ewing. Well, he’s had 5 first team All-Rookie players in his first 2 seasons, so this seems to be an area where he’s actually doing fine. That's more due to having to rely on freshman than anything else.

4 games in, 4 discouraging results. My tournament hopes weren't high but they are fading.

We don't have "depth". We have roster issues. Our best players have major flaws. Our role players lack discernable strengths.

I like the pieces they have. But they haven't looked impressive early on that's for sure. Haven't seen Providence yet. PC has started off horribly against Northwestern tonight... Yep and Northwestern is TERRIBLE. Not sure who is the worst high major between them, Nebraaka and Wake.

I don't think there is a legit top 25 team in the Big East. Maybe Xavier. If you're trying to count Xavier, then the BE has none... I like the pieces they have. But they haven't looked impressive early on that's for sure. Haven't seen Providence yet.

We had to full court press the Mount to wear them down and get back and win the game. That's not good. I see a bubble team. I was hoping for more in Year 3.

Reminder that today is November 6th. And? I don't think teams that are prime for really good seasons are going to struggle this badly against teams this bad.
