Jason Clark and Chris Braswell are getting excellent reviews in Vegas. From Bob Gibbons' recap of the first day of action at the Reebok Summer Championships "The second semifinal saw Triple Threat defeat Belmont Shores, 82-71. Belmont Shores had just six players due to injuries. Triple Threat was led by the Georgetown-bound duo, PF Chris Braswell (Hyattsville, Md.) and Jason Clark. Braswell dominated with 24 points, 12 rebounds and two blocks. Clark delivered another brilliant performance with 22 points and 15 rebounds to go along with five assists." sports.espn.go.com/ncaa/recruiting/news/story?id=2946438Now THAT is a write-up. Clark just gets better and better, and Braswell appears to be making up for lost time.

I will add that Belmont Shore has the kid everyone thinks is the best PG in America--Brandon Jennings and former Hoya recruiting target and Louisville commit--now Arizona commit Jeff Withey. So 2 of their 6 are rated very highly--and Braswell and Clark outplaying them led to a fight in the handshake lineup. From seeing Jennings play and watching him play--he's a hothead and liked to talk a lot--so I could see him definately being involved. It got ugly and police had to use Pepper Spray on crowd.

Van Coleman of CSTV is covering the event Triple Threat is in and has nice things to say about Chris Braswell--who he had down for 26 and 12 rebounds
"Most aggressive we've seen him since last summer"
He had Clark and Kevon Moore down for 17 a piece.
Also mentioned that '08 and former Rutgers commitment Olu Ashaolu is going to take a bit longer to decide and while still considering Rutgers--he's also looking at; "WVU, Georgetown, Marquette, and Georgia".
Nolan Dennis, a 6'6 shooter in '09 class is listing top 5 of "Baylor, Georgetown, Duke, UNC, and Indiana"--and he likes "Big East, Big XII, and Big 10". He's been rumored to be transferring to St. Pat's in NJ this year.

Wow, what a crazy thing to happen at a summer league game! Thanks for the inside info, RDF. Anyone extremely impressed by 15 rebounds by Clark?! We are getting some extremely good rebounding guards with Wright and Rivers already and soon adding Clark. That will definitely help our big men out big time.

A new name to mention the Hoyas in '08 class---Renaldo Woolridge-son of the former ND and NBA player. Hoyas were watching him and are starting to recruit him--but have NOT offered yet.
J'Mison Morgan had Hoya assistant coaches watching him yesterday--and said he's going to narrow it down to 5 schools after the July evaluation period. As HoyaSkin had yesterday--the schools mentioned by Morgan are; Alabama, Baylor, Kansas, Georgetown, LSU, Texas, and UCLA.
In the game mentioned--Morgan was in foul trouble but had 11 pts, 6 boards, and 3 blocks. Rivals said he has good hands/footwork, and a soft touch, but needs to keep improving his fitness/conditioning.

Jennings sounds like an idiot. He was quoted in the LA Times today as saying that he moved east because he's not a "Hollywood" type player, but an "East Coast flash" type player. Huh?
He was also somewhat critical of Jrue Holiday while heaping praise on himself. I have a hunch the Bruins got the right guy.

Add to that that Brandon Jennings is pretty close to Marcus "gimme your damn laptop" Williams. So, yeah, he seems like a real sweetheart.

Clark and Braswell should go way up in the next hoops rankings. When do they come out?

Triple Threat (Clark and Braswell's team) won the mini tournament they were in--(I have no idea what that is about, ;D) but they won it--with a 51-42 triumph over the Illinois Wolves. They now move onto the bigger tournaments which started today. If I get more of a recap, I'm come back and add to this.
HoopScoop had some recruiting lists and it was same teams as we've heard of above for Monroe and Morgan.
Some other listings--mainly underclassmen
Leslie McDonald--UNC, Duke, Memphis, Tennessee, Georgetown, Ohio State, Kansas, Texas, and Kentucky
Lance Stephenson--UNC, Arizona, WVU, Duke, Texas, A&M, Memphis, Georgia Tech, and Georgetown
Kendall Marshall--Duke, UNC, Georgetown, UVA, Nova, Pitt, Ohio State, and Texas.

They didn't until this year--and their team has been solid--it includes Kevon Moore and Maurice Creek--who have also played very well--along with some other nice players. Henry Sims team lost twice today--and sounds like Isaiah Armwood was a little shot happy and not making too many.

News from Las Vegas and Orlando--where III will likely be heading soon--he was in Vegas the past few days. 1. III watched Allan Chaney's game--Chaney is a PF who is originally from Baltimore but moved to New London, CT and has blown up--Florida has offered and Donovan said Chaney is a "must get" recruit. We've been mentioned in past by Chaney and III along with a who's who of coaches/programs were tracking him yesterday. 2. Hoyas had Assistants watching Atlanta Celtics-Beach Ball Select game---Celtics have a lot of young talent and Select has rising JR Milton Jennings. 3. GU had an assistant watching Greg Monroe in Orlando Showcase. John Brady was there as were assistants from Louisville and Kentucky. Monroe dominated the game without needing to score a lot of points-and ended up a few assists short of a triple double---18 pts, 10 boards, and bunch of assists and should've had more if guys could knock down the open shots. 4. DeShonte Riley is also in Orlando--Tom Izzo and Jim Boeheim were there watching him. He was dominating the glass/paint in game against a team from Indiana. Raw on offense and needs to get stronger, but upside through the roof. A poster on MDVarsity said Riley got frustrated going up against NCA the local entry. Dante Taylor and Josten Thomas apparently dunked hard on him and shook his confidence a bit. 5. Mason Plumlee is starting to play well again and listed Georgetown, Indiana, Miami-FL, NC State, UNC, UCLA, Stanford, and Wake Forest. Only UNC and UCLA have NOT offered yet. 6. Former Hoya target Troy Gillenwater who had committed and now is de-committed from Oklahoma State was listing GU a week or two ago--is now NOT listing GU. 7. Jason Clark and Chris Braswell are having excellent tournament run in Vegas--they are playing well and they led Triple Threat to win in an innaugaral event--with Clark high scorer for TT with 12 pts. 8. III is getting disrespected by posters from Duke, LSU, and UConn on National Board of Rivals for "not proving he can develop big men"--THE FEAR IS BACK! ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png)

That's not as bad as SU fans saying that the Hoyas' man defense is lacking, but its pretty close.

From ESPN:
LAS VEGAS -- The RBK Create or Finish Cup portion of the Reebok Summer Championships came to a conclusion Tuesday. The day offered some very intriguing team and individual matchups, providing the elite players with chances to prove their mettle and enhance their status in the player rankings.
DC Triple Threat, led by Georgetown commits 6-4 combo-guard Jason Clark (Arlington, Va.) and 6-8 PF/C Chris Braswell (Hyattsville, Md.), defeated the Illinois Wolves in a competitive, defensive battle for the championship.
Clark delivered an MVP-caliber performance in leading his team to the title, placing his imprint on the game through his all-around play. Clark excelled in all facets of the game; scoring when needed, playing tough defense, setting up teammates and rebounding the basketball.
Braswell did not score much in the championship game, but he made his presence felt on the interior by controlling the boards on both ends and shutting down the lane on defense with block shots. The Georgetown-bound duo of Clark and Braswell did a great job of setting the tone for their team.

UConn's best bigman was Emeka _kaf_r. He has NO "O" in his game or name. No coach has done less with more, than John Brady. In 10 years at LSU he is under .500 in the SEC, has one final 4, and one sweet 16. JT3 has done that in 3 years. I will not even waste the banwidth on Duke's center development.

Brady is not the best coach in America, but he is better than most folks on this board give him credit for. When he took over the program from Dale Brown, LSU was under NCAA sanctions, and had multiple scholarships taken away for several years. As you can imagine, recruiting under those circumstances proved extremely difficult for Brady, especially considering LSU had declined significantly in Brown's last few years. Only in the last few years has Brady been able to attract elite level talent, not all of whom have panned out. See head case Tack Minor, for example. Brandon Bass and Stromile Swift leaving early were mistakes for Bass and Swift, and hurt LSU. Big Baby was injured for most of last year, though he played in many of their games. According to stories in both the Baton Rouge and New Orleans papers, Brady was so uptight as a coach he kept his players uptight. Within the last few of years, he has learned to relax, and results have improved, last year not withstanding. As I stated to open this post, I realize Brady has his shortcomings as a coach. But i also feel he is a better coach than he has been portrayed on this board..
