Thompson attends the high school I went to. Asked a few people who knew and they said that Loyola struggled this year, but that they had 3 legit prospects coming up and that they were young. Loyola's also a Jesuit school (as I hope the name gave away), so we might have a better shot to get this kid out of Cali. I will try to find out more about him.

Did you go to Loyola during the Bailey days? The team struggled bigtime this year, well under .500. THompson has bigtime skill sets and is just comming into his own. He visited Gtown his freshman year after a summer tournament and loved it. He would not have a problem making the jump out east, but it will be a matter of the UCLA's and UA's putting the press on him next summer. Plus with only 2-3 schollies for 09, GU will have to decide between some major wing talent. Judge, Armwood...

I wish I had seen Bailey, but I was there during the even more successful days of Omar Wilkes and Chris Rucker (we won 2 CIF championships then). I expect that with Thompson and the others we should see a lot better team the next couple years, but we had lost our exceptional coach 2 years ago and were rebuilding. SoCal has also had some very, very good teams and players in the last 2 years and still more coming up--its why USC and UCLA haven't had to really leave SoCal to regain national prominence (yes, USC had a time in the '70s when they were 2nd only to UCLA, so they did have national prominence in bball at one point--oh, and Harold Miner if that still means anything). I'm glad to hear about Thompson's interest in GU already and I agree that making the cross-country trek isn't a deal breaker as the Westchester boys (Brandon & Ashanti) showed. I'll keep my ears up and let you know if I hear anything.

Thanks, good to hear. I think coach Adams will get it going.
