If doseofreality ever saw this thread, he would be giving all of us a stern lecture. ;D ;D Where is doseofreality? I haven't seen him post as much since we moved to the new board.

Georgetown 184, Illinois 8. Hoyas shoot 90% and make 38 3's. How do I know this? Just call me Marty McFly!
More seriously - Illinois 84, Georgetown 65. Illinois has been blowing out their opponents early. If we can stay close for a half, I will regard it as a great success.

What the hell, I plan on getting to MCI an hour and a half early, so I might as well delude myself:
69-65 Hoyas

The Post has college lines?
USA Today line is Illinois -11. My site has it at Illinois -10.5. Not that I gamble.
Vegas is giving us a lot of respect. Must be that home court advantage.

I haven't seen the team this year but it's hard to make a prediction. I expect to lose this game by double digits but I think we all want to see this team play for 40 minutes. Last year against Duke, we had a good five minutes and then mailed it in. Clearly, Illinois is a better team but we have to give an effort throughout. You know the crowd will be jacked so they have to compete. I don't care if we lose by fifteen in the end but don't be down by fifteen at the half and lose by 35. I think a fast start will be the key.

Hoyas 67 - Illini 66
Ashanti Cook leads all scorers with 24.
Over all, a balanced attack which includes double digit rebounds by Bowman and Green, who also combine for 34 points and 7 blocks.
Wallace with a solid 4-9 from downtown, scoring 17 points and DO with a respectable 9 points, 8 boards and 5 assists and 2 blocks, including a stellar defensive effort.
Hibbert gets in early foul trouble, but is able to contribute 7 points, 5 boards and 2 blocks off the bench in 19 minutes of action.

Brandon hits a 3 with less than 2 seconds left to give us the victory ... 68-65.
Further predictions - Roy scores 10, but 8 of those are from the line late in the game and has 10 boards and 2 blocks
Ashanti matches up well, Wallace doesn't. Green and Bowman make Illisnois' big men get tired and get them into fowl trouble exposing Illisnois as soft in the front court off the bench.
Brandon and Green shoot over 40% from 3 and carry the team with some assistance from Owens who always shows up for big games (remember the "badooka" dunk against Duke?).
All this is dependent on the team believing in the offense and running the break efficiently (Ross must dunk) even when Illisnois makes a run.
Ok, now that that is said I'm leaving for the game ... student seats are hard to get. See you all there.

I wish I could be in the Sea of Gray tonight. I'll have to settle for my WAG shirt Clark Kent style under my work attire tonight! (btw that tingle has nothing to do with Buffalo's video collection)
