What the heck is going on in this place?
Do we not revel in Syracuse getting spanked around here anymore?
Hey, I was right on board with applauding Mr. Magoo for standing up and speaking out about Syracuse's rightful place in the Big East.
But that was then. This is now.
And yes, I know we're supposed to support Big East teams over other non-conference opponents, but this is Syracuse! Led by Pasty-Boy and Mr. Over-The-Back Offensive Foul. And its not like they were playing some loser ACC school.
Personally, I was occupied last night, with Frank Black & The Pixies making my ears bleed. But when I found out the Orange had lost, it warmed my chilled heart which was soaking wet from the downpour I got caught in after the show.
Now, come on, Hoya fans. Lets do some Orange bashing on this board. What has this world come to?

At least now they've gotten their "quality loss" and now they can move on to the difficult part of their pre-Big East schedule... 12/11 Binghamton 12/18 Drexel 12/20 Cornell 12/22 Rice 12/28 Albany Dome, sweet Dome.

My intern, a lifelong Cuse fan, lost that bet and is currently fetching my lunch from Sammy LaGrassa's all whilst wearing one of the We Are Georgetown t-shirts I keep in my office...Good times, good times...nay, great times.

What happened on that last play? OSU dunked it with 0.08 left. I turned away for 1/2 a second and look back to see the ball rolling on the floor and John Lucas of OSU picks it up and gets off a shot before the buzzer sounds.
You could see "Pasty-Boy" jawing with Lucas in the post-game handshake line -- I assume he was Editeded about the last second bucket.

Man, those Syracuse guys can sure shoot free-throws. Boheim always brags how he has his kids attend the Shaquille O'Neal free-throw clinic, and it really shows. I wonder which % is higher for Boheim, his team free % over his coaching career, or his team's graduation rate. Sounds like a tough one to me? ;D

After the dunk, Syracuse had to inbound, because the clock stopped on the score. The Syracuse player just flipped the ball on the floor, almost right to Lucas. You saw the rest. I'm sure Syracuse was upset that Lucas shot the ball. Too bad. What happened on that last play? OSU dunked it with 0.08 left. I turned away for 1/2 a second and look back to see the ball rolling on the floor and John Lucas of OSU picks it up and gets off a shot before the buzzer sounds. Syracuse can suck an egg. That said, they do have the best basketball program among non-accredited Canadian colleges.

Despite the proximity, you'll note the only thing we send to 'Cuse is 'lake effect' snow.
Best Canadian product out there right now is probably Denham Brown of the accursed Huskies.
As for 'Cuse -- our HS education up here means that you're not actually ALLOWED to go to 'Cuse for 'higher' education... too much going over the same ground.
Hoya Saxa! Let's go, boys -- upset of the decade, comin' up!

This is more like it! ! !
For a minute I thought people might be afraid to respond to the Syracuse loss. After all, it is well-known that former Orange star and ESPN-designated "future of the NBA" Carmello Anthony frowns upon criticism -- or "snitching" -- about the Syracuse program.
Hopefully Carmello will not put "money on the @%&% brain" of any Hoyatalk members for their posts on this thread!

Oh man, another Cuse fan just can into my office and asked to borrow my stapler...so I picked if off my desk and mimed like I was going to roll it to him along the ground.
He called me something that sounded suspiciously like "mass bowl" and told me to watch out come January 18th...
I asked him if he would wear a Jeff Green jersey for a day if he doubled-doubled the Orange...he said sure, because it would never happen. Bet's on. What a fool. Now to just get my hands on a Green jersey....

Jeff Green jerseys are being sold at the bookstore, because they are the same thing as the left over Gerald Riley jerseys.

As an Oklahoman and the son of two OSU alumns and a Georgetown undergrad, here are my thoughts on the game ... Syracuse can suck it - if you show up and play the same gimic defense everytime and rely on a team of players with a past with dubious criminal pasts then you deserve to be dunked on and you don't get the right to complain when someone does something that is annoying. I hope Jerry "I am Dicky V's boy" MacNamara cried all the way home. That's what you get when you're over-ranked and have Hakeem "I can't shoot a jumper to save my life" Warrick as your secondary offensive option.
How's that for smacking Cuse around. They deserve it - they have stolen 2 MCI games from us in 2 years.
