I had a banana today, and they had bananas at the Winston Salem tourney and the New Jersey tourney...I will be having bananas for the rest of the way!

I'm not superstitious by nature, but at halftime of the UNC game, I figured it couldn't hurt, and ate a banana.

Thank you lic. I was getting worried. There hadn't been a banana thread on Page 1 of the board for the last couple of days.
Bad mojo.
We need a banana thread and - just as importantly - a banana thread started by lic on Page 1 of ths board all the way up to 6:07 EDT on Saturday.
Got to keep those good vibes going.
And I don't want to hear ONE WORD from those people who say this kind of thing means nothing. Jinxes, superstitions, good mojo, bad mojo, it's all real. Jebus and St. Ignatius told me so.
If you've been growing a beard, you keep that beard. If you've been wearing a certain shirt, you keep wearing that shirt. If you've been drinking a certain drink, don't you dare drink anything else. If your family is no longer talking to you because of your obsessiveness, well then, it's going to be another long week on the home front.
Banana, banana, banana, banana! Beat the Buckeyes!!!!

Speaking of superstitious hair growth, does anyone know if Roy's been keeping the scruffy facial hair growth until we win it all?

What about banana bread? ;-)
Should we be saying "eat ANOTHER banana, Hoyas!" or is it still the same banana?

If they win two more games we're definitely keeping him through Midnight Madness at least.

Speaking of little children, that reminds of an episode (youtube.com link below) of a kids show "Oswald" on Noggin (a Nickelodeon channel for pre-schoolers) that I once happened to watch with my 4 year old daughter that was rife with *seemingly* un-intentional double entendre involving a "big banana". The story line centers around Oswald (an octopus) and his dog Weenie who accidentally grow an enormous banana and end-up trying to share their "big banana" with all the fine citizens of "Big City".

If we are going to stick with what is working, shouldn't the word "banana" be misspelled in the thead's title? This is the first time I've seen it spelled correctly. Don't want to jinx the team. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)

I think we are eating so many bananas (or bannanas or banannas) that we are going to have a potassium imbalance at the end of this season.

Tyrone Slothrop's banana breakfast from Gravity's Rainbow: "...with banana omelets, banana sandwiches, banana casseroles, mashed bananas molded in the shape of a British lion rampant, blended with eggs into batter for French toast, squeezed out of a pastry nozzle across the quivering creamy reaches of a banana blancmange...tall cruets of pale banana syrup to pour oozing over banana waffles, a giant glazed crock where diced bananas have been fermenting since the summer with wild honey and muscat raisins, up out of which,...one now dips foam mugsfull of banana mead...banana croissants and banana kreplach, and banana oatmeal and banana jam and banana bread, and bananas flamed in ancient brandy Pirate brough back last year from a cellar in the Pyrenees

Inexplicably I found a banana in the walk-in refrigerator of the restaurant I manage early Sunday afternoon. So I ate it. Then the Hoyas ate theirs. Great stuff.
