Jeff was impressive because he played the Princeton post perfectly, passing well (7 ast, 1 TO), scoring, rebounding. At times he even faced the basket and drove, possibly looking a bit like Chris Webber. And he drilled two threes that left the Davidson announcers flabbergasted. He started the offense in the second half.
Jon was impressive because, like Jeff, he's just a freshman, and he put up 17 in a half. 4 assists and 2 TOs isn't a bad ratio, either. His shooting blewopen the game at the end of the first half when Davidson was threatening to get back in it.
Ashanti hasn't been discussed much, but he basically had Jon's first half in the second. He's hitting his threes, and that's opening up the drive to the basket. he carried the offense for stretches in the second half.
Brandon was impressive to me because he was remarkably efficient. He shot well. He was consistent the entire game. He had a couple of steals. If he forced shots, it wasn't many. He played within the system, and he ended up with a great game.

Wallace actually scored 14 pts in the first half, not 17.
Jeff's all around play was awesome, but when a guy who most dont expect to score more than 4 or 5 points puts up 20 on 6-8 from three (one of them apparently being a long chuck at the end of the first half) as well as 4 assists, he is no doubt the most impressive player in this game in my opinion.

I agree Wallace's performance was the most impressive. If this kid can continue this accuracy, the whole team will be better. I hate to put that much pressure on a freshman, but the Hoyas have not had a shooter with that much accuracy since Mark Tilmon. Bowman, Cook and Owens are all good shooters, but are streaky. To have a guy like Duke's Riddick opens up the shots for everyone else. Lets hope he can keep it up.

Kind of like the Chronicles of Riddick? haha, sorry.
I didn't expect a Redick level shooter till Josh Thornton arrives next season. I agree with you completely, if he can be accurate all season long he will be a huge addition to the team.

i voted for jeff, mostly because he's a monster. i think all players mentioned deserve credit, the freshman for playing to this level so early and especially brandon and ashanti for buying into coach thompsons system and putting the team first. a great effort and an impressive win.
i hope big roy and tyler get more minutes as the season goes on though.

I voted for Cook because even though he had the big goose egg in the point column at halftime, he ended up with 17 points. It goes to show you that he kept his head in the game even though he wasn't involved in the scoring for the first 20 minutes.

One of the points of the Princeton offense is that you can be very "involved" in the scoring and not score any points.

One of the points of the Princeton offense is that you can be very "involved" in the scoring and not score any points. Very true and that actually goes for any offense if the game is played the right way. I guess my point is that he was able to drop 17 after not putting in any hoops in the first half.

i was most impressed with Jeff because he showed the range and shooting ability that we saw this summer in the Kenner. After not making too many outside shots in the first two games, he exploded last night to show what we expect out of him for the next four years. Green and Wallace will show great improvement from this year to next and will be a force in the Big East in future years.

He never even took an outside shot before last night. Good to see him take some and knock them down.

This performance is why I said Wallace over Cook at PG after the Kenner League. Give him a chance...
