Wow...Vegas was pretty off on this one...for once.
So by the transitive property this game makes us better than Duke, St. Joe's and Mizzou. If Duke could only win by 13 at home then we would dominate them.

We're not 19 points better than Duke, but this does mean we sure as heck won't be 320 or whatever in the next Sagarin!

My quick estimate is that this should move us to about 120 in Sagarin.

your "quick estimate"?!!?!?!?!!!! hahahahahahahahahah. on a sidenote, who give a rats arse what we're ranked by sagarin? If I remember correctly, HoyaChris is "Rain Man" of the board - our mathematical savant. Sagarin means nothing right now, but it is something to talk about. Later in the season, it is as good a predictor as any (and a nice way to see if the team is improving).

r-r-r-r-r-rain man? I care a little where we are in Sagarin. Over time it is an awefully good reflection of the relative capabilities of our team, although early in the season it bounces around a great deal. #309 is an insult at any time of year.

"Rain Man" was meant as a compliment. ;D
As for whether Sagarin is worth commenting on, I think if we evaluated the real value of any discussion on this board, it wouldn't be too high.

Took it as a compliment. Thanks.

Interestingly enough, this brings G'town's sagarin rating up to #73, far beyond even rain man's estimates!
Agreed, this means nothing at this point in the season, but it's fun to see a jump of 236 places.

Shows how unimportant the Sagarin ranking and national polls mean at this time of year

I prefer Pomeroy. kenpom.com/rate.phpGeorgetown page: kenpom.com/sked.php?team=Georgetown&t=pGeorgetown is ranked #90, with a projected record of 12-12, 6-9. The home St. John's game is missing from the schedule. Adding it as a win would make the BE record 7-9. The two TBA games in Hawaii are not projected. A split would make the projected record 14-13 before the conference tournament. NIT.
