Anybody being paid to inform on the topic of college basketball should not fail to mention PE Jr. and what he brings to this team. I firmly believe if he played last year vs. Florida that we would have won. His 3 pointer vs. BC was even more important than his hellacious reverse thunderjam which rivals Michael Graham's crams vs. Houston as best in Hoya history imo. This kid plays hard, plays smart and brings a passion to the game that brings out the best in Roy and Jeff. Thank you Patrick Ewing Jr. for coming home. I second all of the above. PE Jr. has been awesome.

I heard Lavin pick us to win the tournament last week. I hope he's a better prognosticator than he was a coach.

Say it ain't so! Dickie V predicts we'll lose to an ACC team? I can hardly believe it. Vitale is a waste of space. In USA Today last Monday, he picked all 4 #1 seeds. On espn.com, he's got UCLA coming out of the West. Multiple brackets, BABY!!! His "breakdowns" of the games over the weekend were great, too - basically consisted of "[Team] is awesome! They have [Player], who shoulda been an All-American! But I think [Other Team] is gonna take this one and move on to the next round!" You beat me to it. I was going to write about his picks. It's so stupid and predictable. He's a joke.

The only reason he made all those sweet sixteens and thus stayed at UCLA so long was that those teams always had 5 starters who would see time in the NBA. He wasted an awful lot of talent (I think one team even had 5 starters who were mcdonalds all americans)

Seriously though, if you have the time, try and watch the Gameday recaps they've been doing every day with Rece Davis, Lavin, and Majerus. Its the first program I can remember on ESPN in years where you might actually really learn something from every second of the show. Lavin and Majerus are such obvious gym rats, and they really get into the nitty-gritty of what teams are trying do do. There's no news-making or hyperbole. Its just chalk talk, and its awesome. (NOTE: Bilas usually does this too, although he doesn't get into the lingo like Majerus does. And his performance is dragged down by Digger and Hubert Davis, who both manage to say plenty without really saying anything).

Reminds me of the early days of Monday Night Countdown (or whatever that show was called) with Jaws and Merill Hodge (who used to be pretty good before he became far too ESPN-ized).

Whis was an awesome show. Jaws was masterful with the tellestrator and always provided excellent detailed analysis.

Lavin to Michigan? Anyway, I like them both as well. Both are very articulate, intelligent basketball minds. Majerus needs to get Dajuan's name right though. After naming him the best freshman in the BE he called him Sumner! then called him Sumner again and Mike and Mike didn't correct him.

He has a lot of charm and I'll give him that, but if you guys think he is able to effectively disect a basketball game, I have an issue with you. Remember, this is the guy who started using hockey line changes during the NCAA tournament. UCLA offenses were so unstructured for the Lavin years that it's a testament to the talent UCLA had that they were able to stay above .500. If anyone hires Lavin (unless it's for their PR department) they are in major trouble

If Wallace was instructed to dribble around looking for his own shot while all his teammates set picks for him, i.e. the Villanova offense, he would score more points than Reynolds in fewer shots would have more assists too. I would have to agree that Green should of been an All-American but Wallace being the best shooter? Not too sure about that. And Summers is not the best freshman in the Big East...look at Reynolds. Just my two cents
