personally, i think tomorrow's game is the first test of the season. sure, losing to temple sucks. but, temple plays an unusual style of defense and the hoyas were playing their first game with a new system.
this davidson team is solid. this would be a decent win on the road for the evolving gtown squad. let's go hoyas!

I agree. Davidson is a good team, and in many ways I think this is a real solid test for the guys- an important early road game.

I agree with Hoya 50, if not a win at least more movement and penetration and solid defense. Any win on the road will be big this year.

Wow, I thought Davidson would be an easy W. I was mistaken. This definitely will be a good test for the guys, especially on the road. I wish I could see it. I mean, can't Comcast channel put a couple games on tv. I guess its they got an ACC thing going on there.

After the disappointment of the Temple game, I'm tempering my expectations for Davidson. I agree that it is an important early season road game against a decent mid-major team that beat Missouri, hung with Duke, but somehow got killed by St. Joe's. ![???](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/huh.png) Anyway, I don't expect a W here because it's still early and we're still learning. Davidson has proven itself to be tough so far this year, much more than last. However, I expect a close game in which we can show how we fare under pressure situations. Further practice to work out the offense as well. A win would be great though.

this season's worth should not be measured in wins and losses. it should be measured by the improvement of the team's play. if by season's end, this team has achieved some basketball efficiency, i would have to declare the season to be a success regardless of record. a couple of seasons will pass before winning is the ultimate criteria for judging a season's worth.

agreed, Hoya50.
That said, Davidson is a tough early test. Should be interesting to see the results.

www2.davidson.edu/athletics/prog_mv/mvbsk/mbskseasons/2004-05/0405mbskoutlook.aspHere's the Davidson outlook from their official site. This sounds like a real test. Not a lot of height, but they have outrebounded their opponents in every game this year and were +5.1 rpg last year. According to their online roster they top out at 6'9 and have no true center. I'm hoping to see some better 3 pt defense and Roy and JG going down low to score or kick it out. It will be interesting to see how the Frosh rebound against these guys.

We've outrebounded both opponents this year, which is a welcome development. I hope we're able to exploit Davidson's lack of size, but we also need to be cognizant of the need to rotate quickly on defense so we can defend the perimeter adequately and effectively.
