"Georgetown is going to that regional final - the question is who they play there, North Carolina or Texas". Tell it like it is, Dukie!

I don't like it at all...I want to sneak up on people. Giving Washington St all that bulletin board material...lol
I couldn't even type that without laughing.

I like it, because Bilas is IMO the best college hoops analyst around. However, anything can happen as we all know. I remember when I used to root for St. Johns, going back like 6 or 7 years, they had a finish to the season that was kind of similar to ours. They got their act together over the latter half of the season and they won the Big East tournament. They were sort of teetering on a #1 seed, with many NY area writers suggesting that they deserved it, but they ended up getting a "high #2 seed" after winning the BET. A lot of people were suggesting that they had a good shot to win it all though.
And that reminds me a lot of us right now. We've had a hot streak going and we've played superb. That doesn't guarantee anything though. That St. John's team ended up getting bounced early, and as difficult as it seems to imagine at this point, it's a possibility for us too. Remember before the season when we all looked at the schedule and penciled in wins over teams like Duke, ODU, and Oregon? The same kind of thing can happen looking at a bracket. A team's ranking, record, conference, seeding, etc. etc. go out the window once the tournament tips off. It only takes one off game, maybe even a few off minutes, for a great team like Georgetown to slip up.
Not trying to be a downer. Just saying that even when great analysts like Bilas are calling us elite 8 locks, and even though our chances look very good on paper, anything goes in March, and that can't be understated.

I love Jay Bilas. I find myself agreeing with everything he says. I think he should be a one man selection committee next year.

Well, RB, Iowa was a team like that last year, and they lost their first round game. You're right, you cant listen to any of the hype. i hope our boys enjoy the experience, but part of me hopes they just hole themselves up and focus on every game, one at a time....

Oh my God. Digger just picked us to win the whole thing. Jay put us in the Final game with no pick.
Of course, ACC Vitale and Hubie love UNC. That would happen if they were seeded 16th.

Both Jay and Digger picked us to make the championship game, beating OSU in the Final Four. Digger said he liked us over Florida to win it all!
Vitale picked UNC to win it all. As Reece Gaines said, "surprise!"

That jacka-- loves EATING his words, a month ago, he said we were in the upper third tier of the Big East too, so I love the picture of him EATING the crow of our # 2 seed (he snidely said we were "a 3 at best" Friday night.
On another note, they talked about Kansas getting that # 1 over UCLA, and mentioned they haven't beaten anyone in the top 50 RPI since early January: Is that accurate?

Not exactly, but it's sort of right. This is why I wouldn't have been surprised to see us get a 1 seed over Kansas. Their wins over top 50 teams in the RPI consist of: #6 Florida on November 25 (On a neutral Floor, winning by 2, in OT) #40 USC on December 4 #32 BC on December 23 A really long time passes #25 Texas on March 3 #25 Texas today They also lost to #87, 68, and 53. GU, on the other hand, has 9 wins against top-50 teams and didn't lose to anybody lower than #50 Syracuse in the worst game Georgetown has played all year and maybe in the past 2 years since I've been here. Ultimately I don't care but it's worth noting.

Thanks for the explanation Tal, and I agree about our game vs. cuse. The last 8 minutes they just got really hot and hit whatever they put up. It's all worked out anyways---we are the CHAMPS of the BEAST and they get to STAY in New York in March like they like to do till January anyways every year

Bilas is the best analyst in the business and it's not even close.
Remember before the season he did (or tried to do) one of those behind the scenes looks at a team. JTIII got uncomfortable and shut it down, but the fact he allowed Bilas into the gym for a private practice means he respects him as well.
Bilas has been a very positive supporter and he's not a Duke homer at all. I know he went there, but he's pretty fair and balanced.
Unlike Goettlieb whose entire job is to be a fool on TV.
Brennan loves us too. He's very good as well. They should focus on him and Bilas more.
