WVU had a shot, too, I thought. I think MD actually has some challenges in their draw.
I'm a little nervous about BC and Texas Tech, but that's my nature. And there are no easy games after the first one, for anyone. We're going to have to beat good teams to advance - if not these, we'd just have others.

The BE indeed got hosed, but now RPI and all that subjective crap is out the window. Now it's time to ply and see who is for real and who is not- us included. While we got the East region we wanted, it was loaded with teams that might see us for the 2nd time this year. The ACC was vastly overrated, but their co-champ (BC) gets a 7 and us in the 2nd round? Crazy. Love that ODU got in. Because of us.

Everyone is talking about playing BC. Am I the only one who will be picking Texas Tech in that matchup?

Arkansas was 7-9 in the SEC West... Just ridiculous. Dukie V. is agreeing with you right now.

I'll be rooting for TTU like crazy in the first round vs BC.... but that said, we'll have to come to play every game here. Even Belmont is a 20 win team.

This is disgusting what they did to the Big East. Leaving Syracuse out is an abomination despite how you feel about Cuse. And the seedings for almost all BE teams included are kicks in the butt. Looking at the others who are in, Syracuse and West Virginia deserved to be in.

The Big East had a miserable out of conference performance. The six Big East NCAA entrants beat a grand total of six NCAA teams combined, and a few of them Penn (Nova) and Oral Roberts (GU) weren't that big a deal. And there were lots of lame losses from that group - Dayton beating Lousville, etc.
It's like the tree falling in the forest and nobody hears it. If you beat a bunch of teams that haven't beaten anyone, then why is that a big deal?
Syracuse lost three home games to teams that didn't make the tournament and only even played one road game.
Syracuse and UConn actually were ground zero for hurting the conference this year in the way they scheduled and the way they performed.
I wouldn't be surprised if there isn't a little confab of Big East ADs in the off season to the affect of, hey, we are a 16 team conference, and we are going to get screwed in the NCAAs unless everyone pulls their weight with decent scheduling. And that would include the occasional - how do you say this? - ROAD GAME.
Cuse makes so much money by playing at home, maybe that makes it tough for them. So they won't be able to collect NCAA money this year.
The good news is all those NY area Cuse grads I saw at the Garden on Thursday may get a chance to see their team in a few weeks back at the Garden. Watkins, Roberts, et al can end their four year career by foisting up an NIT trophy.

First off, Memphis got a #2 seed.
I'm not surprised Syracuse got shafted because the committee still relies heavily on RPI and road wins and Syracuse was bad in both.
I do think Villanova deserved better and maybe Marquette. ND got a tough draw but I think the right seed.
I'm still scratching my head about Arkansas.

Belmont is a tougher draw than people think. they aren't athletic, but they have great shooters and they have big guys that can shoot the ball. plus, Justin Hare is one very good point guard. We have to play well against Belmont or they have the potential to give us a tough time

Clemson will try to defend the NIT title for the State of SC At least the Gamecocks won't be having to pay Pat Riley for the rights to 3Peat.

Agreed, Dayton.
BE got screwed, but we can all make up for it by winning. We get paid as a conf based on the # of NCAA games played. Win more, get paid.
Now is the time to put up or shut up for the BE.

Davidson will beat Maryland
I'm much more afraid of Texas Tech than I am of Boston College. It's been a while since BC beat somebody good. Texas Tech beat Kansas and swept Texas A&M

The Committee is clearly trying to send a message to the Big East, but I don't think its to the teams that made it... The bottom teams in our league are really bad, and there are A LOT of them. USF, St. Johns, SHU, Rutgers, Cincinati, UConn...these teams had terrible years... Thats almost half of the league Look at the bottom teams in some other Big Conferences...
ACC: Miami, Wake Forrest, NC State (?) SEC: Auburn, LSU(?), SC PAC-10: Az St, Oregon St, Cal
I mean, the top of our league clearly is probably the most competitive in the country, but we have 6 terrible teams. Maybe the Syracuse board has a point...

one nice break for gtown - florida and kansas on the other side of the bracket. the hoyas would only see one of them (potentially) and those are the two teams that scare me. osu and nc do not.

I'm kinda surprised that FL got the #1 overall seed over Ohio St. Minus our favorable treatment, seedings were a little wacky this year, and I hesitate to praise the committee on their jobs as quickly as Nantz/Packer did.

We are in a tough region. The blood is in the water though - let's destroy BC.

Our region might be the toughest, but it's tough because of us as Texas. Our half of the bracket is beautiful.
