would far rather play depaul. Sumpter/Reynolds combo scares me alot more than Mejia and their streaky shooters...

i think we beat down nova if we play them again. like i said in another thread, roy will be salivating for this matchup...it will be the first time in the history of the big east tournament (and probably division one basketball) where a competitor eats three of the opponents' squad WHILE logging a triple double.

Put them both on the floor at the same time - Roy will eat half of them by the first half 12:00 TV timeout anyway.

DePaul. Clearly, DePaul. I (we) are not afraid of Villa-nofun. That said, you have got to think that DePaul will be the easier game, as it were.

Nova. One more game for us to work on playing against their press. Nova is doing something defensively that obviously causes us some trouble. Let's fix the problem before we have to face a team like Texas A&M in the real tourney.

Nova plays hard, with a system that maximizes their talents. DePaul plays hard but seems like chaos. No discipline.
We'll beat 'em both, but one would think DePaul would be our preferred opponent.

Depaul easier. Nova better preperation. Either way let's kick some ass!

Prefer the tougher challenge - Nova. If we can't bring the ball up on the press and get Hibbert involved when strong players are fronting and muscling him, it will be a short stay in the NCAAs. So I'd rather have another chance to practice those things against Nova. Then I want to play against a tough zone and a decent three-point shooting team in Cuse. Then bring on the other best all-around team in Pitt for the championship.

I'm dreading the prospect of Nova. Basically, we either lose that game or win the whole tournament, IMHO.
Go Blue Demons!

Either one--doesn't matter--you have to play/beat someone and whomever shows up on Thursday has to have their butt kicked.

Depaul would be the easier path to the BE title, but I think that by this point we should have Nova figured out and it would be a good tune-up for the NCAAs

Depaul, a better chance for a big win and some rest for the starters, which we'll need if we want to win 3.

Either one is fine. We're better than either of them.
I'm just rooting for a bloodbath double overtime game!

Depaul, a better chance for a big win and some rest for the starters, which we'll need if we want to win 3. I agree. Of course we can beat Villanova, but I'd rather see our starters get a bit of rest so they're ready to demolish Syracuse on Friday.

I'm just rooting for a bloodbath double overtime game! You mean the Nova v. DePaul game, right? Not the Hoyas v. winner . . .

Yes, Nova v Depaul. I'd love to see them play a nice long painful game.
