This time of year when bubble teams are desperate for big wins to get into the tourney, you always see upsets, either in the conference tourney or when a big-time team comes to the bubble team's arena.
It just happened to us.
It might be about to happen to Kansas, tied at 51 in Norman.
If KU loses this, the sky is clearly falling for them too.
Just like the sky is falling for Wisconsin and for Florida and for North Carolina. These teams have also clearly all been outcoached lately.

what dogs me is the recurrent problems with this team even during the winning streak. the guards still are too careless with the ball and cant handle a tough press. roy gets bullied underneath and doesnt get enough touches on offense. this team has far far far too many turnovers in most games and if that doesnt get figured out we will have some probs in the tourney i think.
i have no problem with our perimeter D tonight. the Cuse just made tough shots...but when eric friggin devendorf is blowing by jon wallace, you know there are issues. i love this team, but i just wish i saw some improvement in a couple of these areas.

i'm bumping this up after Florida lost just to prove a point. Did I mention Air Force also lost AGAIN. And Michigan State lost to a desperate Michigan team?
The real question is whether there will be any night this week when bumping this thread up ISN'T necessary.

Well, West Virginia sure didnt take care of business.
That game was huge for them. BYU beating Air Force also affects the Big East. I know Lunardi has them at #8, but I think they were considered on the bubble by others, and now are a definite lock, I would think.

Add two more to the list as Maryland takes down Duke (on the road no less) and Texas pulls a Syracuse on Texas A&M. Is there anyone left who thinks losing to Syracuse was an inexcuseable shocker?

same here... I don't even think these games can be considered upsets at this point though (Maryland, Texas, etc.)

well texas is a much better team than syrapuke.
as for maryland, having watched bits a pieces of that game, they are really impressing me, i am sad to say. they are very aggressive defensively and have a strong inside game. when mike jones is on from outside they are dangerous. i wouldnt be surprised if that team made a run in the tourney, i have to say.
duke looks bad bad bad. mcroberts dont got no game and paulus put up some serious clunkers last night. good win for maryland.
outside of one or two extremists, i don't think anyone labeled the syracuse game "inexcusable" - i think people were especially disappointed in it being syracuse and cheddar bob breaking our streak...what disappointed me the most was our glaring and recurring weaknesses coming to the forefront. handling pressure and getting the ball to roy.

Agree that the main reason the SUcks loss elicited such an overwhelmingly negative response was the fact that we lost to SUcks. Beyond that, a good performance against UConnvicts should lay to rest concerns over our recent play. In fact, we would have to be one of the hottest teams around entering tourney time if we came in winners of 11 of our last 12. If we don't show up and eat the huskies though, get ready for some more "poor guard play cost us a chance at greatness" threads.

Are we sure that Texas is clearly better than Syracuse? Aside from the Durant hype, Texas lost to Villanova don't forget, who is still trolling around in the middle of the Big East standings. (And DePaul beat Kansas!) Meanwhile the Big 12 is 7th in conference RPI, and frankly stinks outside of the top 3 teams (you can have TTU and Ok St.). All of the people jumping on the Kansas bandwagon forget that.

In fact, last night was possibly Texas's first win of the season over an NCAA tournament team: www.kenpom.com/sked.php?team=TexasSUcks has beaten us, won at Marquette, and beaten Nova.

The real question is whether there will be any night this week when bumping this thread up ISN'T necessary. I'm going to go with tonight. Then again, maybe the Paladins will make me eat my words.
