I think it will be Cook, Owens, Bowman, Green, and Hibbert most of the time, but if the other team doesn't have a center I think we will start two smaller guards, maybe sub Wallace for Hibbert. I would really like to see Bowman play his natural position (3), although in the Princeton I think that matters less.
ONE MORE DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dude, how can you bench Don Reid with Jahidi? I am not pleased.
That being said...I like Hibbert playing to start. No need to keep the big fella waiting, he's just a bigger Diaw and anything helps.

One of your prodigal sons is back for the desperately needed NEW era in HOYAHOOPS --- Esh went away (WHEW!!!) (he just wasn't the same since inauguration 2001 (remember what happened that night, and how we spiraled down from there?) - but now it's time for the "J T 3" Era. I'm SO excited because this is NOT a Joey Meyer taking over at DePaul for his daddy situation - but more like THE MASTER raising Lazarus from the dead thing we got going on. I'M PUMPED AND READY!!! As far as the starting lineup, from what we hear about Wallace and Hibbs, I wonder if some days we might be better served by having Wallace start at the Point, Cook, BB, Green and Giubunda - and some nights starting Hibbs for "G", and Cook at the Point with Owens at the 2. I love the fact we have a sweeter rotation coming in in the backcourt (including either Wallace or Owens, and Green (I hope Reed will maintain his quickness, but settle down a bit). It's also good to have size as opposed to last year (obviously we'll be a work in progress). Not to defeat the spirit of the starter of this thread, nor to devalue the importance of the starting lineup, but I believe that those who FINISH the game are more important than those who start; and those who play Most of the minutes in between are even More important than that. Either way, PEACE AND PROSPERITY to ALL YOU BROTHER HOYA FANS - may we all meet at an upcoming REGIONAL in a March in the VERY Near future (`06??). For now, Patience, "BIG PICTURE" and Support are the words we need to maintain. Oh yeah, GUHoya2007, were you at the Temple game last year with some other faithful Brothers all dressed up? I think I may have met you there (I'm from NJ, and I introduced myself to a great young guy in the above description, and asked if he was ever on the board). Anyway, I hope you are well and be assured that your record is safe with me.... PEACE!!!!!!

Yeah, I was at the Temple game with a bunch of my friends. I talked to a few alumni though so im not sure if I met you or it was someone else. One of my friends was actually the kid who got to do the halftime thing. He was all decked out in his Hoya Gear including cape and wig and he had to spin around on the stick at center court to get dizzy and then run and make a lay up before the other guy doing the same thing made his. It was pretty awesome considering that we were in Temple's house and he was on the court and actually won it. Anyway, welcome to the board!

Since Temple showed an inability to protect the outside of their zone, I think we'll go small on Monday. My vote is with the Wallace, Cook, Owens, Bowman, and Green lineup with Hibbert getting minutes as the first guy off the bench.

Isn't it weird that this hasn't been announced yet?

Vic and REid were never on the same team but I think the lineup in 95-96 was White on the bench and Boubacar at the 3.

Isn't it weird that this hasn't been announced yet? It is smart not to announce it because I can see how a few minor changes, such as Hibbert starting or not starting, could have an affect on how a team prepares to play us.

My vote is with the Wallace, Cook, Owens, Bowman, and Green lineup with Hibbert getting minutes as the first guy off the bench. I think Hibbert starts at the tip, but Wallace soon comes in. Auburn took 3s on 2/3rds of their shots. Nutty, and I hope we can beat them some other way, because I don't know if we'll shoot 40% from 3.

I am hoping that Temple over-compensates on the perimeter due to what happened against Auburn with the result that maybe our guards can generate some drive and dish scenarios or hit more cutters. That is almost better for us than anything else because layups tend to be high percentage shots.

According to the WaPo preview, JT3 hasn't decided on a lineup yet.

A source close to the team says (surprising) Cook, Bowman, and Owens have been decided as starters, but the other two have not. My gut tells me that Green (clearly) gets one of those spots and I think AKD might get the other. I just don't see Hibbert getting the start (need some experience in there), but I think JTIII will want another big body in there so Brandon can play the 3

I think the other three guys who are "in play" for the other two spots are Hibbert, Green, and Wallace. Judging from JT3's comments in the WaPo, I have a tough time believing that Green won't have one of those spots, which leaves us with the question of whether we'll go big or small. I think we'll stay small against Temple and will start Wallace.

SF 99 -- you are correct regarding the lineup Page, Iverson, Aw, Williams and Harrington.

If you have a guy like Hibbert you may as well start him. All I am hearing is that he is a project, but if nothing else he should block some shots, provide a deterrent for attacking the hoop, and draw a double if he can get the ball deep in the post.
If nothing he will gain experience, and we always have AKD, and Cornelio off the bench.
It is going to be fun tonight.
