Rebounds per ESPN box -- 30 to 15(!) Is that possible? Was WVU really that out of this game? Got to like Pitt coughing up a hairball, too -- Hoyas tied for top spot! Actually we are 1/2 game out of the top spot. Great game. I don't think i have seen the hoya execute backdoor cuts and passes like that all year. The are really a fine tuned machine. Green and Hibbert were really hoya-destroya's... My one question is why JTIII kepy Green in for so long. We were up by thirty and still kept Green in. Was he trying to get his numbers up?. I noticed right when hibbert got twenty, he sat down the rest of the game. And what is up with Crawford, why has his minutes been diseminated. I know he had the flu earlier in the year and lost like 15 pounds, but he really has been getting no minutes. Great win. On the metro ride home, heard the best quote from a WV fan "it looked like everytime there was a rebound there were 8 georgetown players on the floor, at times i actually counted" (i was thinking, a WV fan can count above five? -M

Second best quote on the Metro ride home from a WV fan: "Why'd they cheer for us? Let's Gooooooo Mountaineers is our cheer."
No dude, that was "Go hoooooooooome Mountaineers." Peace out.

I just happened to have seats for tonite's game among a bunch of Mountaineer fans. I love hearing those EDITEDs cry. How the heck do they get all those 200 & 400 level tix, anyway?
What I've really enjoyed, however, is how poised the team has been at crucial points in the game when momentum could really shift. Plus, EVERYONE was passing like a champ. The Washington Generals would have looked less hapless at times than those Knee-ers.
With the way the Hoyas played tonight, I'd like their chances against any of the teams in the top 10. I'm looking forward to seeing more of the effort these Hoyas have given us over the past two weeks.
Thanks, Hoyas!

Damn!!!! We are looking so awesome right now. Jeff and Roy are making statement game one after another. Oh and if they're not good enough how about we throw a little alabama rainmaker and DeJuan Assasin atcha. Sapp is doing great on the drive and PEJr is putting in quality minutes(doesn't need to be starting crap, but like the toughness). Great effort!!! A little respect PLEASE. No let ups...make Nova look like the Pu$$y cats they are. GO HOYAS

The first half of this game had to be the best half of basketball I have ever seen GU play in person since 1993 (have been to nearly all of them). GU flat out owned WV, but it could be anybody at this point.
Go Hoyas!!! Only a half game out of first in the BE.

Can I get a shout for the D, tonight, people? I mean, 2nd most efficient offense in the NCAA and all, but holy christ, we shut this team down. Going into this game, I had braced myself for nasty picks around the perimeter leading to quick 3s from Alexander, et al. That just never happened. The perimeter D was absolutely outstanding. I counted maybe 3 opportunities where WV was able to get a relatively uncontested shot off tonight behind the arc. (They made 2 of those.) Beilein knew exactly what beat his team: "Beilein credited Georgetown for switching on every screen, something only one other team has tried against the Mountaineers this season."
Great game planning, great execution, great energy. Just nasty, outstanding defense.

Good point Burleith. Remember a week or so ago, when people were moaning about the lousy 3 point FG defense? Another case of the coaching staff improving a team seemingly growing more cohesive every half.

Simply put...we are the scariest team in the nation!
Also the scariest Hoyas team since Boubacar's '96 team (well...maybe AI, Junk Yard, O and V-Page helped out)
Can we now please revenge the jokers of Vanilla No Fun and their GoodFella Coach....

Beilein knew exactly what beat his team: "Beilein credited Georgetown for switching on every screen, something only one other team has tried against the Mountaineers this season." Now when he said this, was he screaming and making little eyeglasses for himself with his hands? That was even better than the double fist.

Great game planning, great execution, great energy. Just nasty, outstanding defense. One point I wanted to make about the defense was that we had a very sound gameplan in terms of disguising our halfcourt defense. There were several times that we'd start off by giving a man or zone look, only to switch to the other as soon as WVU brought the ball up within 25 feet of the basket and made their first pass. It confused me several times when I was doing play by play in Hoyachat. Lucky for me, I didn't have to play against that constantly morphing defense like WVU did. Being able to employ a defensive system like this requires discipline and for every guy on the team to be on the same page and know their assignments. That, again, is a credit to the staff for getting the team prepared and the players (especially the less experienced guys like Sapp, Summers, Ewing, etc.) for having matured enough over the course of the season to add that to our defensive repetoire.

This game was an absolute circumcision. Not sure anyone could have beaten us the way we played in that first half. We could have doubled them up if we wanted to.
On the down side, we did have 16 TOs.

great win. Great not to have a letdown. I know Jeremiah can't shoot, but I'm so impressed with him. He's a great big guard. He plays great defense, he runs the offense well, and he rebounds very well for a guard. When you have two guards that rebound as well as Jeremiah and Jessie, it becomes almost impossible for opponents to beat us on the boards. You left out the Alabama Rainmaker and his 5 boards, including 2 offensive ones in the lane. All of our guards can board. Which is almost unfair when you consider our front court goes 7'2, 6'9, 6'8
