sports.espn.go.com/ncb/bracketologyLunardi has Duke as a four seed, which may cause him to lose his job because it probably violates his employment contract to have them so low. Then again, he has UNC has a #1 seed. Time to put the Kool Aid down, Joe.

I find this bracketology stuff so stupid. Why do we have to see bracket predictions all year long? Who cares what some guy writes in the brackets at this point in the year, it is meaningless. Save the bracketology for when it actually matters, not before the season has even started for most teams.

Why do we have to see bracket predictions all year long? One word: gambling.

You hit the nail on the head with that one!
That's what most of these predictions and pre-season awards/rankings are geared towards.

Brackets in November, genius! As long as people have nothing better to do, ESPN & others will continue to put this crap out.

UNC has 4 or 5 legit first round draft picks on their roster. The ACC is tough at the top this year, so maybe they won't be a number one seed, but I think they have as good a chance as anyone.
If Marvin Williams is legit, they start Felton, McCants, J Williams, M Williams, and Sean May. I'd say at least 4 of those guys will be first round draft picks in the next 2 years. Jawad Williams might not crack the first round, but he could score a lot of points on a lesser team. Honestely, they may have too many stars and not enough basketballs on this squad. Felton is a good distributer, but all these guys demand significant touches. Considering McCants is a walking keg of dynamite, that might be what derails this squad.

They are a very good team (UNC), but almost all their talent is on the offensive side of the ball. Neither McCants nor May seem to have any interest in playing defense. They basically have a team of players that aere AA or even NBA caliber (Felton, McCants & Williams), but almost all of them have the same primary skill: scoring.
They'd be better off if May was replaced by a defensive center, or McCants with a true stopper-type.
If Roy can get them to play D, they should win the title. But until then, I have the feeling that Top 5 is too high.

What might help UNC is that Jawad Williams is extremely unselfish with the ball and will typically defer to others unless his shot is wide open. I think that this team will/should be #1 in the country as they have a ridiculous starting five and two good defensive stoppers on the bench in Melvin Scott, Jackie Manuel and David Noel.
This is what I'm hoping our squad can start to look like in 2 to 3 years. A couple of good recruiting classes and no defections and we could be there.
