What do I mean by self internal jealousy...well, from the looks of it I'm noticing just the rest of us the "inconsistent" play from our Hoyas...Our Hoyas are beating themselves. If you look at they did not play smart, intelligent bball especially on behalf of the guards...
The guards starting with JWallace play very selfish and and did not push the ball in transition...were only looking for their shots (3's) DaJuan was ballin big time...Jessie had some 3's, but Roy was left out in getting the ball "quickly and swiftly"...it had nothing to do with Villy denying or anything like...poor passes and poor eye vision (poor peripheral vision)(bascially court awareness on behalf of the guards were not there).
Look at it like this...if coach calls a meeting with Big Roy and says Roy what do you think is the problem...Roy probably will say "coach I'm not getting the ball at the exact, precise time I need to get it, so I can do my thing"...everyone cannot be the man...Roy is the man, bottom line and Roy is our leader bottom line!!! Anytime you have a 7'2" legit post player that can flat out do it, you know he's the man just as Patrick was although he was only like 7'0"...Patrick has great players around him that went to the NBA, but Patrick was still the man...you had David Wingate, Michael Jackson, Billy Martin, Reggie Williams, etc...mostly all played in the NBA...I think our team need to know their role and it needs to be stressed immediately and stamped...kb
I think right there and then I would be telling my point guard and other guards (no soft talk, some tough love, it works...smile) give Roy the got _____ ball"...Once said and done it would be a beautiful thing to see like we saw on Saturday not "good" but "great TEAM play"...
Our team went away from the "TEAM" play...I don't know if its Big Roy getting all the press for all these games we've won or what, but you have to remember these are still kids and they do get jealous at each other, and the only ones that will know is them to a certain point...
Sometimes the coach won't know until a fight or argument or something of that sort breaks out...I think "maybe" or I could be wrong about this I'm just speculating and asking if you guys could think about this...

by the time he gets the ball at the 'exact, precise time' he needs to get it, 4 nova players would have been all over him. it's easy to say just lob the ball into him. he has to share some of the blame. he doesn't post up nearly aggressive enough. that was stated several times by bilas and co during the game. he is not effective against a team that plays that style. he is most effective when playing against another low post center of similar size.

yeah, roy is not getting the ball...but he aint working as hard for it as he had previously...like notre dame.
post guys getting the rock is a two way street...they gotta be fed, at the right time, but big guys have to present at the right time too...
i thought roy didn't keep working as hard as he could have, and the guards were not finding him.
additonally, sheridan and the frosh drummond did a good job denying roy the rock. wright was happy with that afterward.

Yes, it was all the guards' fault. You've made your opinion on that pretty clear.
There's plenty of blame to go around, 'kay. Now let's get over it and beat Pitt.
[Sorry, I'm grumpy today; fine to say Wallace had a bad game, but saying he played selfishly is both inaccurate and unfair, in my opinion]

Yeah, the first word that comes to mind when I think of Jon Wallace is selfish. That dude just jacks up shots. I think he thinks passing it will hurt his NBA stock.

I tried to run this thread through Babelfish on Altavista, from edited to English, but apparently the text was too complex edited. This "hoyaeighties" figure causes me to yearn for the days of hifigator.
I'm not saying "eighties" hasn't watched the Nova game over and over. But from these relentless attacts on Jon and Jessie, its clear "eighties" has myopia about their play for much of the season thus far. We all know Jessie cooled down in the 2nd half versus Duke and that Jon had a career-high in TOs against Villanova. But what about the rest of the season?

So I've been finally taken off the blood pressure monitor, and the cardiologist says it's OK to discuss these feelings of disappointment and annoyance before they become bumps on my neck and kill me.
Jealousy isn't the problem. At all. During the Villanova game, especially, a variety of players made too-cute-by-half passes, or made weak passes, or just passed the ball around until three seconds were left, at which point they made what I like to call Kama Sutra shots. All of our forwards usually got the ball at least once a possession, then usually passed it on.
And Hibbert did get the ball on occasion, at which point the entire arena grew ten decibles louder as people yelled at him to shoot (usually while at least two people were on him - Villanova decided to shut him down). Half of the time he'd shoot it, half the time he passed it on.
You know what I hate about every Georgetown loss? This team plays pure basketball. Every time we have lost, it's been because of lots of turnovers (and occasionally weak defense). It's maddening because this team is pursuing what is essentially ideal basketball, and it's so close to succeeding.

i agree with 'theexorcist'. while watching wisconsin-ohio st. last night i couldn't help but remember last year's tourney game where we absolutely waxed the buckeyes while playing the best pure basketball any team played in the entire tourney.

Hoyafan, lets be for real...I could tell everything that Bilas and Rafferty said for the game against ND and Villanova and it wasn't that...you have to realize once again "if the guards would get the ball to Roy "quickly and swiftly" when he "first" posts on the block immediately he only has one man on him Roy can get the ball and do his thing...there are not 4 defenders on Roy when the guards can get him the ball "quickly and swiftly"...please before you talk really study and look at the game with no one around and just watch just as everyone on here that knows the game to the fullest...everyone wants to blame Roy...I can tell you one thing Big Roy is not the one bringing the ball to be distributed in the post or wherever...Big Roy cannot be effective against any team if he does not get the ball, so what your saying is false...don't get me wrong or anything, I respect your opinon but its just not the case...did you hear when Rafferty said "look at Roy he's wide open, give him the ball"...Rafferty also said "the guards need to take advantage of Big Roy's talents more and get him the ball"...Bilas said "Georgetown is being weak with the ball" not Roy (the guards and whomever was throwing the ball away (did Roy have any turnovers, points, barely rebounds) answer is no...go figure Hoyafan...peace kb

Hoyanick, I am a grown man, and I do not appreciate you calling me out like that...I didn't say anything negative towards you so please state your opinions without calling me out and I will respect that...if you knew who I was you wouldn't be calling me out like that...go figure...Hoyanick, you're right about Jessie and JWalls (individual performance are great, but team play very shaky) you must remember this is a "whole team of 12 to 15 players, not two"...go figure once again...hmmm...man, I been wathing my Hoyas for like 24 years man, if I don't my team by now somethings wrong...I don't even have to watch the game to know what's going on...I can listen on the radio and know whats going on good and bad...smile...I was home alone chillin focused and studying the game and I was accurate at my findings good or bad especially when Rafferty and Bilas were saying the same exact things I have been saying all year....go figure for the 3rd time...Hoyanick Happy New Year!!! kb

are you being serious? explain 3 rebounds in 24 minutes for a guy that is 7-2? are you going to blame wallace for that? you need to get over your man crush on hibbs and realize he doesn't fight for position and often loses the ball easily once he gets it. the guards and jeff stunk, but roy wasn't any better. go get the ball on the damn boards if you want it that bad. grow a set and go strong.....making a frigging free throw wouldn't hurt either......
or is that wallace's fault for not handing him the ball in a good position at the free throw line.

Ron, Rafferty..."Look at him (Big Roy) he's wide open give him the ball"...pleaseeee...but he aint working as hard for it as he had previously...like notre dame...man, you have to realize after all these games we've played the guards have not done their job as a "team" to get the ball inside whether its to Roy or whomever period...post guys getting the rock is a two way street...they gotta be fed, at the right time, but big guys have to present at the right time too...dang, if you can't see that 7'2" Big Roy something wrong with your eyesight...that was selfish play in the Villanova game...they weren't even looking inside consisently or for that matter at all...Roy was on the bench for no apparent for lots of minutes...

theexorcist, I respect your opinion...you cannot if its jealousy or not because you do not know...I was just putting it out there that's all...exactly what I'm saying if you're doing the right thing with the ball and not playing around with it on the perimeter you won't have all those turnovers because you're playing good "team" smart, intelligent basketball such as the ND game...anymore?...smile kb...those turnovers mean we are literally beating ourselves...kb

you're hopeless. we were playing 4 on 5 offensively with roy in the game. macklin was much more effective against the quicker nova players. roy is a turtle. he plays best against other turtles, like gray this saturday.

Hoyafan, obviously you weren't watching the game...Roy was on the bench for a lot of minutes in the first half and second half...go figure about the rebound thing...he still didn't get the ball and sometimes players lose a lil confidence when his teammates are not showing any confidence in him by giving him the ball...hmmm...and no I will not get over my man Big Roy who carried us to the Sweet 16 and would of been final four if Owens would hit that three...hmmm once again...yes, I got something for you everytime you say something negative bout my man, the leader Roy Hibbert...you haven't said anything about Jeff now that's where we go South when he does not have a good game, not Roy...please know the facts...
