Hoyafan, I've come to conclusion that you're just a Roy hata who doesn't understand the game of basketball or for the matter know the game of basketball...I won't waste my breath on you or fingers...smile...kb

last time i checked, the final 8 came after the sweet 16...but then again you're the genius. vernon played 10 less minutes and got 2 more rebounds so your roy on the bench argument is dead wrong. please know the facts....or at least have the brains to check a boxscore before you post nonsense.

And Hibbert did get the ball on occasion, at which point the entire arena grew ten decibles louder as people yelled at him to shoot (usually while at least two people were on him - Villanova decided to shut him down). Half of the time he'd shoot it, half the time he passed it on. Actually, every time he got the ball he passed it on (or turned it over), as the Big Fella did not attempt a single field goal. As for Hoya Eighties: maybe there is something to Jon not having enough confidence in Roy (tho I personally don't buy that), or even Jon not displaying outstanding vision, but the idea that Jon is jealous or selfish is totally ridiculous.

If you're fouled as you shoot, it's not counted as a field goal attempt. So you can take shots without getting field goal attempts. He obviously did not take a whole lot of shots, but he definately put some up and got fouled.

And this whole time, I thought it was just me. Guess I was wrong.
I second the Hifigator post. At least his posts can be reasonably regarded as English, and have some substance to them.

Healinghoya...My name is Kent Boone...as a matter of act Mr. Kent Boone to you...and I'm not afraid to say my name or anything to anyone...we can talk about the game of basketball...its cool... Yeah, Hoyaeighties, that was really more of a joke. I didn't really want to know your name but it's great that you're willing to share it so freely. No offense intended and I should have communicated the intended humor with greater clarity to avoid the perceived slight. In terms of the guards vs. forwards/centers culpability debate: the answer is there is no single, simple answer. Green has the talent to post 18-8-6 every game playing within the GU system. EVERY GAME. He needs to step up. He has All-American talent but lacks the mentality to make it happen. Hibbs is awesome but has loads of improvements yet to be made. Endurance, consistency, ability to finish (he dunks less than any 7 footer I have every scene...) offensive rebounding. But... Wallace, Sapp, Rivers, et al also need to do a much better job of prioritizing post entry passes early in the offensive sets. That allows the bigs to receive the ball prior to the predictably packed-in zone from setting up. It also allows the bigs to kick the ball back out, re-post and receive the ball again. It's a team sport. There are improvements that need to be made from positions 1 through 5. There is no single player or position totally responsible for the Hoyas poor play.

Hoyafan, obviously you weren't watching the game...... Hoyafan, don't you realize only the well-versed and eloquent Hoyaeighties can make ridiculous claims without even watching the games...? hmmm...man, I been wathing my Hoyas for like 24 years man, if I don't my team by now somethings wrong...I don't even have to watch the game to know what's going on...I In other news, Georgetown is considering changing the name of the Flemish-Gothic centerpiece of campus, the Healy Building, to the Hoyaeighties-inspired "Healing" Building. Hoyaeighties hopes that students will learn how to write witty terms such as "Self-Internal Jealousy" within the confines of the newly renamed building.

I almost wish I had originally decided on HealingHoya. It just sounds soothing.
"Serenity now, serenity now..."
Instead, "HealingHoya, HealingHoya..."
Ahhh, that helps me find my Hoya-ness. You gotta always find your -ness.

During the Villanova game, especially, a variety of players made too-cute-by-half passes, or made weak passes, or just passed the ball around until three seconds were left, at which point they made what I like to call Kama Sutra shots. Um, don't you mean "kamikaze"? Agree with your substance, BTW. No, I mean "Kama Sutra". Ever since JTIII has become coach, Georgetown had a nasty habit of passing the ball around until two seconds are left on the shot clock, leaving the player with the hot potato to make some awkward, body-contorting shot - ideally, with at least one (preferably both) feet off the floor. Hence the term Kama Sutra shots. Yoga shots also works. They'll also occasionally do this with more time on the clock (Sapp had one at the Villanova game). The apex that I saw was the home game against South Florida, where Georgetown kept on doing this. If the team doesn't turn the ball over and doesn't make lots of Kama Sutra shots, they usually win.

can't we all just get along?
better yet: can't roy attempt more field goals? who knew that there was such an easy solution to everyone's problems?
we beat pitt and everyone shuts up.
casually.

imo, its not roy or the guards. its the defense. see what happened to oden & co vs. wisc last nite. basically same thing.
i rewatched the game nova game. we tried early to get it in to roy but kept turning it over. they constantly fronted him and denied the entry pass. maybe our guards need to be more jason kidd-esque but we got what we got.

80's...if roy is your man, that's cool. but don't act like he's presently shaq or kareem abdul jabbar dawg. he worked hard against nd, and the guards got him the ball. both were working.
against villy, neither were.
on an entry pass, the post players has to present, and the passer has to get him the ball in scoring positon. if they both don't do that, it's very hard for the post player to score. if the timing is off, it really doesn't happen, and if both don't occur, forget about it.
im willing to identify the guards as a problem, but you have to admit roy was part of it also.
yea, there were times when roy presented and didn't get the ball. the proof of the pudding is what happens next. does he mope, or does he re-establish position, seal his man, and get ready to receive the ball?
i saw the same thing as raferty et al...as i was about 50 feet away from them, and in the second half roy was about 10 feet from me on the offensive end.

Seriously, guys - take it elsewhere.
Or grow up and drop it.
Mods: lock it up, or something. If these guys want to fight, they should take it out to the schoolyard like we did in the old days.
