Ok, I stretched the truth a bit, but Chris Lukezic, soph at GU, ran a 1500m race yesterday that converts to a 4 minute mile. At the rate he was going the conversion factor from 1500m to 1609m (one mile) is about 17.2 seconds. His time for the 1500m was 3:41.59, which equates to a sub-3:59 mile. And this is the week of the 50th anninversary of Dr. Roger Bannister's 3:59.4 mile, which broke the 4-minute barrier for the mile for the first time. Congratulations to Chris. It goes without saying that his mark represents a PR for him. It was a windy day, and he had to beat no less than Alan Webb, who had broken Jim Ryun's HS record. Chris is a year younger than Webb. hoyatalk2.proboards26.com/index.cgi?board=hoyasports&action=display&thread=1083960339
