Galindo visits KU this weekend and has the Hoyas scheduled for a mid-week visit, which will be his last visit. He'll make his decision after his visit to GU and has NO LEADER heading into the visits. He also mentioned that "he has an open mind and looking for what is best for him".
I think Hoyas have a great shot and glad they have the last visit. He sounds like a player not afraid to go against the grain with his choices--selection of UTEP proves that. While KU has a lot to offer him, GU might have a better situation and seeing that JT III would like to play a style that is very similar to what UTEP was doing, uptempo, motion offense, he might fit in much better as a Hoya than most think. Now he lists Rutgers, Pitt, and one other school but GU has just as much of a chance and he wouldn't be visiting unless he was serious.
To add to the suspense, Hoyas backed off Matthew Thomas of Riverside, CA a bit and he ended up selecting San Diego State. I think JT III and Staff have a plan on who they like this Spring Period and are primarily focusing on '05 and beyond. But as we've seen, GU will not sit by quietly like we have in recent memory. We have an aggressive and hungry Coaching Staff and that's usually rewarded in recruiting and on the court.
Let's get Galindo and start some momentum into next year to build off! Add in Jeff Green gaining Eligibility and we'd be off to a great start! I think "WE ARE GEORGETOWN" is great, but I'm partial to "The MONSTER HAS AWAKENED"!!! The parallel between GU's change and what happened with traditional Football Powers and Private Schools--Miami and USC is amazing. Coaches who have eye for talent and aggressive mentality, hiring of good Assistant Coaches, and most of all making everyone in their "Family" realize that their programs are IMPORTANT again! Butch Davis and Pete Carroll brought their storied programs back to Elite and I'm confident that JT III is well on his way to doing the same. It starts with effort and enthusiasm and we're seeing it in recruiting and undoubtedly in the direction of program!
