I didn't even know they were after him. I thought it was us and some SEC schools. That surprises me, but I guess since we started focusing more on the '05 class, firing of Esh and Assts, and JT3 coming in, Aaron couldn't wait any longer. Good Luck to him, it'd been nice to have another banger this year, but oh well. Now we'll prob save the schollie and bring in 2 bigs and 2 guards for next year.
That would give us 4 schollies for next year right? Wish List:
Boateng Aboya Rivers Thorton/McGee/Point?

We have four if DJ does not stay for a fourth year of eligibility, fifth year of GU.
If he is granted another year, and stays, as I expect, we only have three scholarships as of this moment.

I saw the link on OK State's Insiders.com site, but couldnt find any other articles on Pettway's decision. Does anyone have a link to an article or can someone provide a brief synopsis of the Insiders.com story?

I really doubt Pettway's decision had anything to do with uncertainty at Gtown. Would you rather play for a Final Four/Eight team or a team that has been to the tourney once in the last 5 years?
JTIII can't target guys like this yet because they won't come here. He should aim a little lower, put together a few solid winning seasons maybe finishing in the Big East top 5, and then go after the HS all-americans. That's just reality unfortunately.

Frankly, I'm not even too perturbed that Pettway isn't coming, after looking over his relative position in the Jayhawk JuCo conference at the end of this season. www.kjccc.org/basketball/03-04/stats_m/conf_indv.htmlHis one area of phenomenal prowess was in shots blocked. But as for all other aspects of the game, no go. He wasn't even regarded as the "best" player on his own team at Hutchinson CC. And he didn't make the cut to become an NJCAA All-American -- not first team, second team, third team or even honorable mention. That said, I wish him well and he probably chose wisely to go with a recent Final Four team like OSU if he wanted to put his talent on better display.
