We're not in 11-20, either: linkEdited to add: No mention of G'town in Duke's (#12) OOC synopsis!? Likely due to no official scheduled date for the game.

I assume dhtat once he got to the top 25 he'd just regurgetate his top 25 list he made back in june but i checked and it's changed since then. Let's see if we go higher or lower than 6th or remain the same.

I assume 1-10 come out tomorrow (Friday)?
For reference, June's top 10 went as such:
1-Florida 2-Kansas 3-UNC 4-Pitt 5-LSU 6-[glow=red,2,300]GEORGETOWN[/glow] 7-Ohio St. 8-Arizona 9-Wisconsin 10-Texas A&M

Not that it matters, but Roy made Dickie V's 3rd AA team. Jeff, who shut down Dickie's second favorite player, was nowhere to be seen.

not bad based on this and our theoretical schedule we'll be playing the #46 oregon, #44Michigan, #37 DePaul, #30 Louisville, #26 Ok st. , #23 Villinova x2, #21 Syracuse, #20 Marquette, #14 Uconn, and #12 Duke. and most likely a top Pitt x2 looks liek our RPI will be just fine despite the WSSUs. 13 games against top 50 opponents right now.

This looks pretty solid, compared to 10 games against top 50 opponents last year (plus two in the BET).

I'm sure I'm late to the Edited party on this one as I haven't been checking the board of late, but what the @#$& is with W-Salem State? Where did that one come from?

can't complain too much since it's been far too long sice the hoyas were a preseason top 10 team but i do think they have Wisconsin, Arizona, and pitt ranked too highly and us slightly too low but w/e. Just kick ass all season and we'll slowly creap up that list until the phrase the #1 ranked hoyas is uttered.

"What concerns us: Point guard won't be the most experienced position and a reliance on youth off the bench."
I don't think I buy this one, unless he's considering Wallace a 2-guard. While Jon doesn't have a ton of raw athleticism, I would say he's probably going to be one of the most experienced floor generals in the country this year.

Here's my favorite quote:
"John Thompson III's system is a winner."
That is what this is all about. As good as Roy and Jeff are, they'll depart in a year (or two at the most) but the program will continue to thrive because of JT3.
It is funny to think back on some of the intense criticism of JT3 and his system right on this board.. and not that long ago. But I think most of us realize we are extremely fortunate to have him!

You can get a reasonable guess at where the Hoyas are ranked in this Katz production by looking at the associated poll question 5: proxy.espn.go.com/chat/sportsnation/polling?event_id=2384The higher sections are all in the same order as they are listed in the poll... ergo, the Hoyas look to be ranked 7th.

I don't have much of a bone to pick with these rankings, but Texas A&M in the top 10? I have to question that. Sure, they won some big games last year - Texas at home, upsetting Syracuse in the NCAA first round, nearly knocking off LSU in the second were it not for a buzzer beater. But a national championship contender? Most of the big wins that they had were because they were able to slow the tempo down to a snail's pace, where the scoring was in the 40s. Teams will figure that out, and I don't think they'll be able to do that on a consistent basis. Billy Gillespie is doing some great things there, and they seem to be a good top 20 to 15 team, but national championship contender? Challenging Kansas for the Big 12 crown? I really don't think so, but I guess we'll see.

Based on this, I think we should be in a tie for fourth with Pitt behind FL, KU, & UNC. That being said, we can beat any team out there and if we aren't shooting the ball well, we can be beat by any team out there. The teams relying on youngsters will have trouble in the tourney, UNC. Look at what happened to Kansas last year.
